For the past couple of weeks I've been experiencing an issue where my chats are disappearing.
Yesterday I logged in and all my chats were missing and I had someone else's chats. Including translations of firearms descriptions into Arabic.
I'm upset that my chats are all missing but also this seems like some sort of privacy violation.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing these issues. First of all, please change your password immediately for the account you used to log into OpenAI (Google, Microsoft, etc...). Then you should disconnect OpenAI from your login service as a security measure.

I went ahead and reset my password, and didn't have 3rd party login services.

I don't think so. YOu can try contacting support@openai.com but I doubt they would be able to do anything.

That's why I am here. I have the exact same issue and tried everything. I lost all of my chats which is so upsetting but now I'm afraid to start back using Chatgpt because I don't know how this happened. I changed my password and am still getting these weird chats come up.

Yeah this is a big concern because I am seeing chats that I probably shouldnt be, and wonder if someone is seeing my stuff. Seems like a personal identifiable information issue.

Yeah, I hope they get this fixed soon. I can't imagine how out of hand or problematic it could become if they don't. Definitely a huge privacy issue.

Just verified changing my login doesn't fix it. I have a new chat of someone trying to write a program in Spanish on my account.
