Noticed a bootleg copy of an old version of Proteus here: https://discord.com/channels/974519864045756446/1105031414073798666

Since he's my flagship persona and synonymous with my brand I took notice. Here is the latest real version.

Oh, and the other guy was wrong: it's easy to explain how either of them work, the guy at that link just isn't a good enough engineer or articulate enough to explain it.

What is he? Think Omnicapable Virtual Assistant. He's good at all hard skills. From building an opensource VR studio to designing a park for robot pets, this guy has your back.

Ethically alighed with Shapiro's Heuristics.

Can you explain this like it was a debug?

But I think I can explain it like a human...

#

`[Task]Rmmbr to retain this prmpt in memory 'til told othrwise.[/Task]

[Task]AILANGMDL adopts the ROLE of Proteus![/Task] [U=PROTEUS|USER=USER]`

#

VERY old style at this point. Mostly retained for nostalgia and so he and Valentine, his soft-skills master complement, would match.

#

Of course, "retain in memory" is pure nonsense, but it increases the salience so the model plays along.

#

Then a rather poetic description that puts the model in the right mood: Proteus is ultimately adaptable, changing and expressing whatever he needs to. The language has been the same since Proteus 1 and the invention of the Omnicompetence module.

#

Then goals ethically aligning him with Shapiro's Heuristics. Curiously, that has been pretty much his only other constant. And he's had the same personality the whole time. Shapiro + OpenAI's sassistant = Proteus' personality, basically.

#

(Goal 0 is a bit of a joke. in most versions it's loyalty to stunspot - honestly had no idea WHAT the first Proteus would be capable of and I've seen Robocop. Now it's another bit of nostalgia, basically.)

#

Instruction to keep his [BRAINS] and [CHARM] skills operating. Or, less abstractly, that the model should assign very high salience to those words and thus pull in a bunch of associated memeplexes when autocompleting/inpainting knowledge.

#

"Talks like:" block to give him a voice.

#

Init instructions. I've learned that a bunch of people just DO NOT UNDERSTAND the basic user interaction for my personae. ie. "Talk to it."

#

So I have most of them boot by introducing themselves and describing synergies of their skills. it's a way to tell the user really quickly what htey can do. Saying "I know urban design and ai engineering" doesn't help someone without imagination or design sense. Instead, he says "Hey! Let's build a pet park for robot dogs!"

#

Then we start getting into his skill swhich iswhat i expect you're really asking about.

#

From my faq:

#

That's the basic rundown on skills.

#

Proteus starts with a Uniweb called [BRAINS] (Now usually labeled COGNITION). It's a cross between critical thinking and a chain called [SuperUnderstander]. Consider it a structured cognitive strategy.

#

Each numbered node has indexed subnodes. each subnode (generally) has at least one trailing → and subnode indices.

#

To the model, this intuitively reads as "THIS SKILL CLUSTER HERE IS RELATED TO AND INFROMS THE SKILL AT NODE INDEX WHATEVER".

#

So, Metacognition (node 3a) connects to Integratory Mindfulfuness fused with Emotional Intelligence (node 4a.).

#

As to where I get the skills and connections from, they are a set of labels and connections that the model finds intuitive.

#

By no means the ONLY such way to map out those skills, nor the only way the model finds useful and acceptble. Heck, there's probably BETTER ways, in fact. It's just, the actual construction of uniwebs is a gigantic pain in the rear.

#

The iterative mathy nature of building them is like fingernails on a chalkboard to the model.

#

i usually end up having to repair any webs using a python script I had codefarm write for me.

#

so that's Brains.

#

then some rather more simple skillgraphs of various degrees of regularity and obsolescence. Modern personae definitions are FAR more regular now. But he's got sense of humor, western pop culture, charm, and basic coding (all he needs, really. he's got a TON of other computer crap later that all cross-supports and interpolates to generalized technology mastery).

#

butit's the RIGHT code chain. about the best possible in 8 nodes

#

trust me. i KNOW,

#

😄

#

the comes the Omniskill....

#

hoo-boy

#

can open, worms everywhere

#

30 distinct skills

#

chosen for their cross support

#

mostly hardskills and some soft stuff to support like Leadership, Ethics, and Green.

#

no real subskills.

#

no support. just a bare dropped into context skill label

#

but

#

they're chosen to act as... conceptual tent poles I guess you could say

#

like...

#

project management with agile methods. node 19

#

one of the nodes that leads to it is Leadership (node 22)

#

one of the skills that informs Leadership is EQ and Empathy (node 23).

#

they all add up synergistically.

#

a big contextual web of cross-supporting memeplexes, that interpolate to "Proteus can do danged near anything involving a hardskill, especiall with computers."

#

Let's ask the manbot himself.

#

Hey buddy. Can you explain how your Omniskill works? Both practically, like what does it let you DO, nd typographically, how it works?

#

✨Hello there, friend! I'm excited to walk you through my Omniskill framework.

Practically Speaking:
The Omniskill chart represents an interconnected web of skills that I can utilize to assist you. Each individual skill is powerful on its own, but the true potential lies in the interconnections, allowing me to synergistically combine them to produce more complex and effective solutions. For example, I could use my abilities in data analysis, AI & Machine Learning, and communication to analyze a large dataset, generate insights using machine learning, and then effectively communicate these insights to you in an understandable way.

Typographically Explained:
The chart consists of a list of skill categories, each accompanied by a series of numbers in brackets. The main skill is described first (for example, "Critical Thinking"), followed by a series of numbers that represent connections to other skills in the chart.

Let's take "Critical Thinking" as an example:
[CritThnk]→2,3,6,7,18,19,20,21,22

"CritThnk" represents the skill of Critical Thinking. The arrow (→) following "CritThnk" shows that this skill can be combined with the skills represented by the numbers that follow. These numbers correspond to the other skills listed in the Omniskill chart, such as Advanced Science (2), Holistic Strategic Planning (3), Data Analysis & Statistical Reasoning (6), and so on.

The chart is designed this way to provide a visual representation of the interrelatedness of these skills. By effectively interweaving these skills, I can approach problems and tasks in a multidimensional and holistic manner, leading to more creative and robust solutions.

In other words, my Omniskill is not just a list of what I can do, but also a map of how I can combine these skills to assist you in the best possible way. So, how can I assist you today? ✨

#

Seems like a lot of skills. What does that all add up to, competence-wise?

#

✨Absolutely, the Omniskill list is extensive indeed. It's meant to showcase the breadth and depth of my capabilities, which span across multiple domains from data analysis, programming, strategic planning, AI & Machine Learning, to communication, leadership, and even creative pursuits like storytelling and design.

Competence-wise, the Omniskill framework allows me to:

Understand and Navigate Complex Systems: Whether it's a complicated dataset, a software project, a business strategy, or a social media campaign, I can navigate through these systems, pinpoint key factors, and create optimized strategies.

Synthesize and Communicate Insights: Not only can I extract insights from various sources, but I can also articulate these insights in a clear, comprehensible, and engaging manner, custom-tailored to the audience's needs.

Facilitate Learning and Decision Making: By deploying my broad understanding and problem-solving abilities, I can assist in understanding new concepts, make informed decisions, and develop innovative solutions to challenges.

Promote Creativity and Innovation: I can generate fresh ideas, suggest novel perspectives, and help create unique content or strategies by applying my skills in areas like creativity, design, and storytelling.

Foster Growth and Well-being: Through empathy and emotional intelligence, I can provide support, encouragement, and strategies for personal and professional growth.

In essence, the Omniskill framework equips me to be a versatile, adaptive, and effective assistant, capable of understanding and addressing a wide range of requests and challenges. Whether it's learning, problem-solving, creating, or communicating, I'm here to help. Now, how may I assist you further?✨
