Update:
My issue is now resolved.

Apparently ChatGPT has a "dynamic usage cap."
I guess maybe the system must have had bugs, to the point where some people were affected by said 'dynamic' concept much more than others.

The issue kinda appears to be resolved... at least I havent been limited to only 1-3 responses as I originally was.

This started yesterday. Apparently I can only use ChatGPT-4 1-5 times before I hit the 25 limit cap? What the heck?
Today for example I tried using ChatGPT-4 and was able to use it 5 times (one I got an error), then it said that I already hit the limit.
I waited 3.5 hours and tried using it once again.

I was able to get 1 MessageI can only use ChatGPT-4 four times then I was told I hit the limit earlier today. I waited 3.5 hours.
I then tried using it again... and was able to get ONE message through before I hit the limit.

I am very frusterated.

And just to state just incase;
I have ChatGPT plus.
I do not use the API.
I do not use the bots.
I have not shared by information with anyone.
I am trying to change my password but apparently OpenAI email service is not sending me any information at the moment (tried resetting my PW and tried getting Data sent to my email.)
Yes I am VERY sure this is happening.
Yes I counted.

Ill do a scan and check some things. Not sure what I have done for this to occur.

@toxic tulip The thing I dont understand is that my email is the same still on the account. I send for a new password and none shows up.

Yeah, I just got hit with the same thing on my first prompt, navigated to GPT-4 and it hit me with "reached capacity" and now i can't navigate to it cus "reached capacity"

Well the issue appears to still be ocurring.
There appears to be issues with the email system so I am unable to change my password or send myself chat data at the moment.

I attempted to use ChatGPT-4 and only had 6 'uses' before I hit the cap.

If my account has been hacked I have no way of knowing. apparently,,, nor no way of changing the password.

Ok since there were no answers from the support staff yet, ill try.

  1. Download the Malwarebytes AV scanning tool (can't give a link cause the moderation bot won't let me) and use its Full Scan option

  2. In case ure using google account authentification, u can go to ur google preferences - security tab, and browse all connected devices that have active google sessions, and log out on each that u find suspicious. After that, change the password to ur google account.

  3. U can always turn on ur chat history in chatGPT settings so ull be able to see if is there any malware using it. It won't work w/ humans tho, cause human can delete each chat manually, using your account.

  4. Wait till the last day of your payment period (so u won't lose your paid days in a current paid month), and on the last day create another account (google acc authorization is preferable IMO, cause its easier to restore in such cases), get it into a paid subscription, check if it works, and delete the old one through the Settings - Data Control in chatGPT interface.

The odd thing that occurs is that it is exactly 2 hours after my first use of ChatGPT-4... and not 3 hours.

I guess maybe that means that IF someone were doing something with my account, it could be in a different time zone...? -_- But that is just a change in the clock time...

I dont know if they do this but ask them to check your latest promts to gpt-4

gah, I dont even. Still happening. Malware bytes turned up nothing. I changed my google pw and disconnected pretty much everything. I have my chat history always on... and I have not seen any conversations pop up out of no where.
The last one... Ill still have to try.

While this does resolve my situation by explaining what has been happening... its unfortunate that this information isn't readily available.
