#Not able to access ChatGPT on PC

Bug Report:
I am not able to access ChatGPT on my PC.
After the human verification challenge I am taken to a page with a login/signup button that doesn't work.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open browser
  2. go to https://chat.openai.com/auth/login
  3. Acknowledge one or more human verification prompts
  4. End up a page with log in / sign up buttons that don't work.

Expected result:
actual working log in page

Additional information

Browser: Chome, Edge or Safari all up to date
OS: Win 10
I have cleared cache and hard reset. Tried this with VPN on or off. I have tried Incognito in Chrome, Edge and Safari and made sure each browser is up to date.

I am able to log into my ChatGPT Plus account on my phone but not on my PC.

Also, I can log into my openai.com account on my PC with no problems.

It's a cache issue. You can resolve it by

  • Opening the login page (either in Chrome or Edge)
  • Then right click on the page and select INSPECT
  • Under the selections of what you want to inspect you want to choose the NETWORK choice
  • Then click on the Disable Cache button
  • Move your mouse back over to the login page that was being inspected so it's the active page and then reload the page to refresh it
  • You'll now see the page with buttons that will work to take you to the actual login page

be sure to uncheck the disable cache option box after you've refreshed the screen and then you can close the INSPECT popout panel to use the webpage

I tried this in both Chrome and Edge. I also did a empty cache and hard reload and that didn't work either.

strange. I had that issue several times (not currently tho) and it fixed it. I've noticed that using Chat on Edge without any extensions has worked much better than on Chrome with extensions

It's more stable overall on Edge altho it still tanks at times but at least not back to that login page. I've also noticed that it'll require me to prove I'm a human multiple times on Chrome where it won't do that on Edge. Wonder if that's intentional on their part?

I can get to the login screen with every browser I've tried (Opera, Firefox, Chrome), except for Edge. I disabled cache, but whenever clicking login, nothing happens.

I have the same problem. The captcha loops several times before arriving on this page where the buttons and CSS style don't work.

I am starting to think that this is a ban or something. I was reading somewhere that supposedly after long periods of activity ChatGPT was supposed to give a Verification challenge to prove you are human. I never got this, even though I did use it extensively. However, after login loop several times, I get the Cloudfare temporary banned message. I did get some chat flagged so this may have generated a review, but not being alerted about a ban. Support doesn't help at all, because after an entire week, there has been no reply from their part.

Even though I was free, only a few times I would be dropped to queue because of heavy usage. So, I am at a loss. Again, I can access openai, and the even buy the API (if I bothered to), but not access ChatGPT or buy ChatGPT premium.
