ornate path
#

@here Update (Dec 25). Version 1.4.5 is out. Added the "Settings" button. You can now select how you want the text to be exported. There are two options.
1- Get full text exported. Both "User" and "Assistant" chats will be exported.
2- Only Get "Assistant" chats exported.
Also moved the "dark mode" menu into the "Settings" to reduce clutter.
"Export All" feature is coming in the next version.
Pro Tip: When you click on the "Text" or "Json" button under the "Export" menu, the full text will also be copied to your clipboard

Hello,

Thanks for letting me know. I found the bug. I'll skip the 1.4.6 and add the fix to the 1.4.7. You should be able to update once Google finishes the review process. I'll keep you posted.
Version 1.4.7 also comes with markdown(.md) format export and export all feature.

hum. Seems like there is a broken chat in your chat history. They issue seems to be only for json export. Do Text and Markdown export work?

wraith grail
#

Three not working

ornate path
#

It could also be because you are being rate-limited by ChatGPT. Basically, if you can't generate chat, the export doesn't work either.

#

Does everything else with ChatGPT work?

wraith grail

I wasn't limit rating

#

Yeah, charGPT seems normal for me

Can you click on the arrow in the error and send me the screenshot?

wraith grail

Huh kinda werid it's working when you might rate limited sometimes when you use it too much it will be rate limited I'm sure it's just api.

ornate path
#

Ah ok. Yeah. If you use it too much, or if you have a lot of chats, OpenAI might rate limit you. I'll look into slowing it down a little bit to prevent rate-limiting. Thanks

Im looking into extensions as a means for implementing some features as well.

# ornate cloak also add an option to stop response if we dont want really

I've looked into that since other people asked for it too. It's possible to fake stop (Meaning the UI doesn't stop showing the text, but the backend continues to generate words) but to actually stop it, I don't think is possible without API access which isn't available yet. If that changes in the future, I'll add it.

[Update-Jan 1st] Chrome Extension for Input History and more

#

@here
🚨 Update (Jan 1st) Version 1.4.8 is released. Here's the list of new features and improvements:
- Add prompts to the library
You can now submit your prompts to be added to the library. Prompts that are added to the library will be available to all users. To submit your prompts, click on the βž• button that appears next to the Edit button when you hover over your prompts in the conversation. You can also submit your prompts from the history. (screenshots in the comments)
- Safe Mode (beta)
You can now enable/disable Safe Mode in the settings. Safe Mode is enabled by default. This feature is still in Beta and may not work as expected. It might also be removed in the future. If you find any bugs, please report them here.
Other improvements:

  • Add "mine" filter. Now that you can add your prompts to the prompt library, I added a filter to show only your prompts in the Library
  • Add loading state to the library when searching prompts
  • Add a delete prompt button to your submitted prompts in the library
  • Add confirm state for delete buttons everywhere in the extension
  • Add the "submit to library" button in the prompt history modal
  • New Logo. (I used mid-journey to generate the new logo) 😎
  • Improve performance by reducing API calls
  • Fixed a bug with Export for new chats
  • Fixed history favorite bug
  • Fixed other bugs and improved performance
NOTE: To implement the Safe Mode feature, I needed to ask for a declarativeNetRequest permission. This permission basically allows the extension to block/unblock some requests.
#

πŸ› Just realized there is a small bug in 1.4.8 that prevents the library function to work. Already submitted 1.4.9 with the fix to Chrome Web Store. Waiting for it to be published. All the other features should work as expected though.

Thanks for the support, Joseph. The only information from the user that is being saved is the name and email, which is already disclosed under the privacy tab of the extension on the Chrome Web Store. This information is used to create an account for the user so that they can use all the features of the extension without any issues. Because we also have a Prompt Library where users can share their prompt with the rest of the community, it's required to have the minimum information for a user account.
Besides that, we do not save any other information from the user. Everything else, including your prompt history and settings, is saved locally on the user's computer. I cannot access user logs at any time.
Hope that helps.

#

🚨 With the rollout of the new Stop Button, some of the page layouts have changed, which has caused the individual Export button and Continue button not to show up. (You can still use the Export All feature to download all your chats, but the individual export button is not visible)
I will add a fix to bring back those buttons in the next version of the extension.

Thanks for the feedback. The up/down arrow functionality is one of the most used features of the extension. I think removing it completely would not be ideal, but there are things I can do to make it work better.
1- I'll change the up/down arrow behavior so that it only goes to the previous/next prompts only if your cursor is at the beginning/end of the current prompt. Meaning if there is no more line to go up/down to, then it goes to the previous/next prompt.
2- I'll add a setting in the Settings modal to disable the prompt rotation completely. That way, you can just disable it for yourself if you don't want that feature at all.

I'll add these improvements in the v1.4.17 update. It should take 1-2 days for it to go through the review process and get published. Hope that helps!

harsh path
# ornate path Thanks for the feedback. The up/down arrow functionality is one of the most used...

Yeah I wouldn't want to have it removed for the entire population either, customization for the end user is what I thought would work best. That's an awful thing google does, simplifying by removing features instead of just making them more of an advanced user feature beyond a disclaimer or something.
Change 1 is damn good, I probably wouldn't of had any issues/thoughts if it was that way. Change 2 is great too to make it an option.

I think we need a change 3 too, to go with your change 1. If it only goes to the next/previous prompt when you reach the end, that's great if you only need to go one prompt foward or back. If you need to go thru many that could get tedious (as I assume the cursor will be at the top again/bottom again depending on where you are moving, the opposite side of continuing to the next prompt), a dedicated hotkey might still be optimal as a shortcut. I might be explaining it wrong though πŸ˜„

This extension has absolutely no effect on your conversation history. OpenAI recently released an update that deleted everyone's history, and I don't believe there is any way to bring that back. To prevent losing your history in the future, you can use the "export all" feature of this extension to regularly download your new conversation, in case OpenAI does something similar in the future.

I'm starting to add a newsletter inside the extension. It's like a daily dose of some recent AI news, tips and tricks, introducing new AI tools, etc. With all the hype around AI today, it's not hard to find the content, but putting them together is just a little time-consuming, and I personally prefer to spend that time building more features. It shouldn't take more than an hour every day. If that's something you are interested in, I'd love to have a call/zoom with you to talk about it. Also, please keep in mind the extension is currently free and not making any money, so I won't be able to pay you at this point, but if I start getting sponsorship for the extension in the future, then I might be able to pay you something. If you are interested, feel free to email me 2 m4rkobay AT gmail DOT com or message me on Twitter https://twitter.com/eeeziii

Only issue I'm having is it's stuck on "waiting x seconds to prevent rate limit", which would be fine except I'm now at -347. Is this an issue you're aware of and/or is it possible to work around, perhaps an option to export chats 100-200 at a time?

- editable themes?

[QOL] most important

language selection (for features like the "continue" button or the aforementioned web search)
- maybe even auto-translate for prompts or chatgpt text?
characters/max count below search bar
- cut off text over the limit, before sending [not while writing] (cut off at the last "." and not slash a random word in half)
manually add a regenerate button, if it doesn't load
warning before your account goes purple (and you can't send any more messages without getting an error)
- auto-refresh the page if it ends up happening anyways
make all the extension's features toggleable (in extension settings)

[Original Implementation]

Save Chats to offline memory (so you can swap through them and export them without using any tokens)
- if you click on the search bar, it actually opens the chat, so you can use chatgpt

All these features would make this extension by far the most useful [which it already is tbh]

Hi @ornate path . I know I can use SHIFT + Copy to copy individual ChatGPT responses as Rich Text Format, but Is it possible to export your entire ChatGPT session as Rich Text Format? If not it would be a very handy feature, rather than the plain text (which I have to spend time reformatting in my Word Processor).

# rugged stump I did try to export the markdown format <@1048426591606296616> . I tried opening...

Of course. Here's a Microsoft Word Markdown plugin I just found https://www.writage.com/. Give that a try if you can. If that doesn't work, there are also plenty of free markdown-supported word processors like http://www.texts.io/ out there

#

How do I turn off the newsletter popup?

#

And what is safe mode?

#

Also I don't see anywhere where the source code is published; is this on purpose?

ornate path
# fathom gorge How do I turn off the newsletter popup?
  • There is currently no option to turn off the newsletter popup. It only popup once a day. I might add that or set it to not pop up by default in the future
  • Safe mode basically blocks requests to the moderation endpoint. Combined with DAN prompts, it should allow you to generate content more freely. This feature is currently experimental and might change in the future. You can find examples of the DAN prompt in the Prompt Library.
  • Yes. This project is not technically open-source. I'm spending too much time on this already. I don't have plans to add the overhead of managing an open-source project.

That being said, I'm currently working on a big rewrite that would basically make an automatic backup of all your chats on your computer. This feature would allow me to be able to add more features in the future, like searching, uploading documents, reading from links, pinning conversations, creating a folder, etc. Here's a preview of what's coming next. Notice how much faster switching the Chats and Export work.

fathom gorge
#

What I think would be ideal is to have the newsletter appear by default, but have 1) a switch for it in the settings, and 2) a "Do not show again" button on the popup itself which turns it off.

ornate path
fathom gorge
#

Why does publishing the source code mean adding overhead? All it does is make it so more people can make changes to it, and also adds trustworthiness. Making it open source can be as simple as making your source code repository public and adding your preferred open source license; it doesn't require any additional steps as far as maintaining it goes. It's up to you; I'm just saying that there's no need to put a wall in the way of people who want to see/use the source code, unless there's some reason why you don't want them to be able to.

ornate path
#

Aside from what I said, there are features in the extension, like Prompt Sharing, which require a backend and database. Those features will not work if they are used outside this extension(API calls would fail, basically). The reason is that I'm currently paying for the cost out of my pocket, and I don't want to end up paying a massive bill by letting people change the code or try to scrape the database. That being said, I do understand your point about adding trustworthiness, and I agree with that. I'll think about it a bit more. I might post the source code with the appropriate license on GitHub.

fathom gorge
#

Why would the API calls fail? It's not like the server can tell whether it was initiated by the extension, at least not in a way that couldn't be spoofed.

ornate path
#

Technically, I can't completely prevent it, but I can make it a bit harder!

fathom gorge
#

Like if you copy the API call exactly, the server wouldn’t be able to tell

sturdy delta
ornate path
#

I'm working on adding this feature to the next version of this extension

ornate cloak
sturdy delta
#

Those are all stuff that should be blocked, and I find it shocking that anyone would wanna bypass that

ornate path
# sturdy delta I’m shocked that you have made an extension to bypass that moderation endpoint

To be clear, this is not just an extension to bypass moderation. There are many other useful features that come with this extension. Like the ability to export all your chats, or sharing prompts with other people, and many other features.
The Safe Mode feature which is enabled by default (can't bypass moderation) is just a small and experimental feature of this extension. Every user can decide if they want to turn it off or not. And whether I make it or not, it's something that anyone can easily enable on their browser even without my extension.
And lastly I'm curious to know how would you feel if someone wants to control your thoughts and tell you what you can or cannot write about? Would you be ok with it even if you don't like it? Do you think you are not capable of making that decision yourself and you need someone else to do that for you?

#

🚨 Superpower ChatGPT v2.0.0 is rolling out. It's currently released on Firefox and waiting for Chrome approval.🚨

#

Here are some of the new features

#

The biggest change in version 2.0.0 is the addition of Synced Chats. With synced chats, a copy of all your chats is now saved locally on your computer. Your chats are still saved on the OpenAI database too, but now you can access them much faster even when ChatGPT experiencing high demands.

Synching your conversations happens automatically in the background. You don't have to do anything. To prevent getting rate-limited by OpenAI, syncing happens very slowly (1 conversation every 20 seconds). Depending on how many conversations you have, synching may or may not take a while. If you have a lot of chats, I'd recommend leaving the ChatGPT window open while you are not using it until all the chats are synced.

#

You can now search your conversation history - just scroll up on the sidebar to see the search box

#

You can export all your conversation in a fraction of the time it took before

#

We had "Select and Export" before. You can now "Select and Delete" a group of conversations instead of deleting them one by one.

#

Automod keeps removing my messages. I have more features to post about!!

ornate cloak
#

Automod is def wrong in the head

ornate path
#

I think it was because there is a text in non-English language in my picture. I won't post the picture

#

You can now Delete conversations or edit their titles without selecting the conversation. Just hover over the title to make the button show up.

#

Markdown and code highlighting is now supported in user input. Previously, only the ChatGPT response supported the markdown format. Now, the user input also supports the markdown format.

#

You can now disable the Newsletter automatic popup. To do this, select the checkbox at the bottom of the newsletter popup or toggle the switch in the setting menu. You can always change this option later.

#

Remember, you can also always access all the previous newsletters from the newsletter button on the sidebar.

#

You can now select the language of your output. This is useful if you want to translate the output into another language. On top of that, both the input box and chat result now have much better support for RTL languages

#

You can now customize the Continue button in the settings menu

#

You can now search prompts by the Author's name. Simply type the author's name in the search box, or just shift+click on the author's name in the prompt to quickly search that author's prompts

#

That's all the major features that are added. Lots of small improvements and bug fixes also are included.

  • Added hundreds of new prompts
  • Improved the "copy with formatting" button
  • Moved the upgrade button into the setting menu to declutter the sidebar
  • Prevent code block header text (copy code and language) from getting copied when clicking on the copy button
#

Please remember some of these features only work when your conversations are fully synced to your computer. The first time it might take a while, but after that, it should always happen without you even noticing.

#

If you use Firefox, you can start using these features already. Chrome users need to wait until Chrome approves the new version.

#

It may be rude to give you suggestions right after you publish a major update, but I have just 2 small things rn:

  • Filter buttons in history and library should be defaulted to the setting that was used last (new/top, favorites) [so you don't have to keep changing to top or to fav. if you use them often]
  • Textbox text limit cutoff, so you never input too much text (cuts off at the end of a sentence, not randomly) [maybe with a popup alert, so you know what was cutoff (you can copy the cutoff text in the alert)]
ornate cloak
#

Also cool (and simple):

ornate cloak
#

Urgent There is a bug upon starting a new conversation:

#

The first ever message you send bugs out the entire screen

#

You stop being able to see chatgpt's response and even if you click on the chat under "search conversations" it doesn't change anything

#

If you refresh the page, you can see gpt's response for a second, before the extension loads and it disappears

#

The bug only occurs when you don't have any conversations at all in your history, and the button on the top right (language) isn't there yet

#

@ornate path

#

After refreshing the page, it shows the green regenerate button (error generating response), even though gpt has already responded, you just can't see it.

#

--
To reproduce [Bug 1] you can clear all your conversations, refresh the page (so the language button disappears). Then send a message and while gpt responds click on the sync button.

#

After that bug, another bug happens, when syncing again (don't know how to reproduce) [Bug 2]:

#

A possible fix for the first bug is to just load everything on the main "chat.openai.com/chat" empty website, even if there aren't any chats in the history

#

The second bug wouldn't happen as a result, however it could happen in another situation. A fix for that would just be to check if there are already elements with the same id or class, and replace them.

ornate cloak
ornate cloak
#

Found another bug (similar to the first bug) [Bug 3]
Bug: First message receives a response. If you send another message, it is sent and also receives a response from gpt, but you can't see the message and response.
Reproduce: Clear conversations, refresh (language button gone). Send message, wait for response. After response written, click on the sync button. After sync, go back to chat, send another message -> message + response don't show up (just noticed that this bug also produces [Bug 2])

#

hahahhaha omg, this is funny --

#

no way. it keeps getting longer (not even clicking on the button) {I'm on the main empty page, no convos, if you need to know}

#

[Bug 2] seems to not have a limit of circling things. They keep mounting on top of each other. Currently going strong with 8!

ornate cloak
#

[Bug 4] (at least I think it's a bug, cause I don't remember it being this way): Chat doesn't scroll down to follow gpt's response (may have to do with the history sync feature)

cunning bridge
#

FYI for anyone following -- the Chrome extension is updated in the store

orchid aspen
#

Quick question about syncing - is there any way to establish progress? I have 960 chats now (I know... don't judge πŸ˜‚) and given the 20 second limit I think that means it will take six hours to sync. I assume that this doesn't have to be done all in one go (but willing to be corrected on that), but would like to know if there's any way to see progress - even if I have to manually go into my local files and check how many files are in a cache or something... many thanks in advance

spark summit
#

idk if its me but every-time I make a response, it refreshes

ornate cloak
#

The sync itself is a nice feature, it just brought some bugs along in typical programming fashion.
Just report any issues you see and that should help.

I have a suggestion as well. Why is there not an option to export to html?

ornate cloak

For what would you use html?

harsh path
#

For quickly opening it in a browser and reading it again?

ornate cloak
#

Do you mean, exporting the entire page or just the main div with the text?

harsh path
#

Just the main conversation DIV I suppose not that I know much about the web elements. I use a script that makes a pretty good html backup of a page along with all the other options like text, markdown and has a screenshot option (that I haven't used)
https://github.com/pionxzh/chatgpt-exporter
Would be nice if it saved all the possible response trees of both the user and the bot though.

ornate path

I'm back! I got timed-out for posting the updates and couldn't post in the channel for a few hours. πŸ‘‹πŸ»

harsh path

#

Update button worked though either way.

ornate cloak

ornate path
#

Yeah. Probably different.

#

@harsh path I'll look into html export.

harsh path
#

πŸ‘

#

Hmm.. Anyway to disable this language selector? It's taking up a fair amount of my screen space here.

ornate path
#

Select the "ChatGPT default"

#

That will disable the language instruction

harsh path
#

Huh. That's what it started on so I changed from it to English hoping it would do that too... Still there even set as default. Require a convo change or a refresh?

ornate path
#

Yeah. I put English in there so if you change to something else and want to go back to English you can. ChatGPT default just set it to nothing

harsh path
#

Hmm no popped back after a refresh and convo changes. Hmm

ornate path
#

Let me check it out

#

Can you send a video of the issue

#

?

ornate cloak
#

I think he means to remove the button and the div completely

ornate path
#

Oh. Yeah. No you can't remove it

ornate cloak
#

Not the ##instruction

harsh path
#

Yeah, this section. It's quite a lot of screen real estate for no real reason. Could we move this option into the settings menu.... where settings go?

ornate path
#

My plan is to use the navbar to add other features instead of cluttering the input area.

#

For example, if you have a plus account, you'll see the model switcher in the navbar too

ornate cloak
#

Well, there could be an option to change between it being placed in the settings or in the navbar I guess

#

and like a second settings page specifically for navbar elements

harsh path
#

Or the side bar. It's a good amount of pixels being used that is obscuring text.

#

AT least Ublock lets me easily disable elements, so I'll just block that element from view I suppose. Too bad it isn't so easy at un disabling elements Lol πŸ˜„

ornate cloak
#

Wait, do you mean the left sidebar?

ornate path
#

I was initially putting it in the setting, but then I thought language is something that people might want to switch back and forth regularly, so it should be more accessible

ornate cloak
#

For customizability's sake, you could argue to just implement both options and let the user choose. Though, it is a little more work.

ornate path
#

I'll add it as a low priority to my list. There are some cool features I have in mind that I want to add first

harsh path
#

I don't even know what it is for, might need some gui help elements/hover tool tips. But yeah customizability is great and I don't think I need to worry about forcing chatgpt to change it's language. AT least for me.

ornate cloak
#

Are you from an english speaking country?

ornate path
#

I'll add a tooltip.

ornate cloak
#

For me I usually have to change languages pretty frequently, so I would say I'm in complete disagreement. It's a very useful feature

harsh path
#

Yeah I am. It does have different usability features depending on the language you want it to use I can agree on that.

ornate path
#

I'm also adding a small improvement to include the language instruction only once every time you change it. It'll be in the next release.

ornate cloak
#

I have a tip, though.

#

Whenever you implement a feature, add it to the settings as toggleable or in some way customizable.

#

That way, everyone will be happy

ornate path
#

That makes sense. My only concern is that it might make the setting too cluttered after a while

#

But I see your point

ornate cloak
#

Well, you could add some more settings tabs

ornate path
#

Yesh

ornate cloak
#

Like an obscure toggles tab, where you just put all the toggles for specific features

harsh path
#

Settings tabs, and categories.

ornate cloak
#

Yeah ^
That way, it doesn't clutter the main important settings

#

It also makes bug fixing a little easier, because you can toggle some features on and off and see which combinations cause a bug

ornate path
#

True!

harsh path
#

Can get a bit excessive though, like with FFZ (FrankerFaceZ - A twitch enhancement extension)
(It even keeps track of what settings are new since last time)

ornate cloak
#

It should just be a small thing to help development and usage

harsh path
#

Going to be quite a while before SuperpowerGPT has that many settings to worry about πŸ˜„

ornate cloak
#

Btw Mandabar

#

this is the extension I mentioned

#

You can even turn the md into a pdf by printing to pdf. So it's pretty useful

ornate path
#

Does the export all feature works fine now?

#

Just wanna make sure the bug is fixed

ornate cloak
ornate path
#

Export All was failing earlier due to some data structure changes from OpenAI. That should be fixed now

ornate cloak
#

Ah, alright. Didn't know

#

I have a question

#

Are the saved chats supposed to stay in the history after you've cleared all? Rather, is that an intended feature?

ornate path
#

Yes, They will stay in your history. Later I'm gonna add a trash box where you can find all your deleted chats. Keep in mind that the chat's will still be deleted from OpenAI side. So your local copy of deleted chats is they only one.

ornate cloak
#

Alright

ornate path
#

And then if you want to fully delete them, you can do it from the trash can

ornate cloak
#

That's nice

harsh path
#

Hopefully there will be an option to fully delete them even locally and or save them to import to another instance of superpowergpt if the current install gets corrupted or removed/reinstalled

ornate cloak
harsh path
ornate cloak
#

aha

#

Wait, isn't the prompt library filter supposed to stay?

#

You added it to the prompt history, but not the library

ornate path
#

I haven't added that one yet. I'll add that it in the next version

ornate cloak
#

Ah alright

wraith grail
#

Seems cool I'll test it

wraith grail
#

That you can use without extension it's still working but extension doesn't work while extension editing

ornate cloak
#

Ah, it seems that the Save & Submit Button isn't working

#

--
Ver. 2.0.4 [Bug 1]: Save & Submit Button doesn't work
Reproduce: Send chat message, click on Save & Submit. The button does nothing.

ornate cloak
#

Nvm, the button works. It just doesn't work if you make no edits, logically

#

@wraith grail

#

There is a related issue however:

#

When you disable the extension and click on the Save and Submit button (even after editing the message), it sends you an error.
It is not an OpenAI error, because, when the extension is on it works, and when you use a different browser it also works.
It may be, that the extension leaves some traces behind, even when it is disabled, which cause this error.

#

Yup, this is not normal

#

It seems to be that the extension somehow corrupts the conversation (I've tested with different browsers and extension on and off), and then you cannot use the button without it throwing an error.

#

Even if you then change to another browser without the extension, if you've sent the message in the chat with the extension on beforehand, it will throw an error.

#

Further tests have shown that it is indeed not the extension's fault. I've purposefully caused an error and then tried to use the button all on a completely empty browser without the extension; what I've come to find is: If you ever receive an error during a chat, the button stops being usable and throws an error.
It is an OpenAI bug, not related to the extension.

Browser: At least Chrome
Version: 2.0.4
Description: Errors don’t show (I think some do, but many don’t, especially when you’ve already sent some back and forths with gpt)
Reproduce: Use a chat with some messages in it already. Get an error -> notice that you don’t see it. You only see that gpt is not writing anymore, but no message is there.

But however it doesn't work due to language selector would be shown by default or something like that because of edit and save is messed up

If you just want to refresh GPT's answer without making an edit, you can press the "Regenerate Response" button above the textbox.

Hi All,
Made a bunch of improvements, bug fixes, and new features. The Firefox version is already updated, and Chrome is under review. Here's a summary:

  • Made a bunch of improvements in the syncing functionality. It now works much better and is more reliable. Update your extension when it's available.
  • The auto-scrolling behavior when text is being generated now works much better. When you submit your chat, it starts to scroll down automatically, but as soon as you scroll up a little bit (to read the previous text, for example), the auto-scrolling feature stops. If you scroll all the way back down, the auto-scrolling gets engaged again.
  • Both the history filter and library filter are now persistent.
  • You can now open your chats in a new tab using CTRL + Click on the chat in the sidebar. For Mac users, it's CMND + Click
  • You can now hide the sidebar, and it will remember it when you refresh the page

Quick tip: To manually sync your conversations, you can click on the sync (rotating arrow) button at the bottom-left side of the window. This will do a shallow sync on all your conversations and a deep sync on the conversation you are currently looking at. This is useful if you want to make sure all your conversations are synced before you close the window. </p>
Shallow sync means it only checks the number of local conversations and the title matches the OpenAI database. Deep sync means it will completely override the conversation with the latest version on the OpenAI database. Since doing the deep sync for all your conversation can cause you to get rate limited, we only do it for the conversation you are looking at. Your local version should always automatically match the OpenAI database, but to be sure, you can always do a deep sync before you start writing to make sure your local version is updated.

Have a good weekend!

Still Save & Submit Button without chances not working

ornate cloak
#

Bro, what is so difficult to understand! The Save & Submit won't do anything, if you don't make an edit!
It is an intended feature.

#

If for some reason you want to refresh GPT's answer without making an edit, you can click the "Regenerate response" button β€” therefore, there is no need for the Submit button to do anything in the case you don't make an edit. A duplicate feature is useless (and it's not like this particularly eased usage anyway)

If you don't understand what I am saying, please use a translator. DeepL is good enough. I wish not to waste anymore time on such a triviality

v2.1.0 was just released. Update for some performance improvements and new features.

While v2.1.0 was being reviewed, I've been working on v2.2.0, and it's ready for review now. I will submit it soon. The following features will be released with v2.2.0

  • Fully customizable and preset prompt management coming in the next version.
  • Allow disabling Auto Sync
  • Limit the number of lines for the prompts in the Prompt Library and added a "read more" button to extend the prompt to full length. I noticed some people were posting very large prompts, and it was making it harder to scroll down the prompt library and see all the other prompts
  • Adding categories for prompts (This is a work in progress, not fully done yet)
  • Improve the Auto Sync performance and fixed bugs when switching conversations while generating results caused issues

ornate path

Bugs happen in every software. There is not a single day that people on this discord channel not complain about ChatGPT itself being down. And ChatGPT has a >500 people company with billions of dollar behind it. I'm just a solo developer doing this! On top of all the bug fixes and new features I also have to spend some time doing research every day for the newsletter that many people love! The reason there are sometimes bugs in the code, is not because I couldn't fix them, it's because I never even found that bug. And that's the beauty of a having a community of people where everyone uses the extension in a different way and they all can approach me and tell me about bugs.

I reminded you that to tell you if you want a bug to get fixed, the right approach is to simply report it with a way to reproduce it, and some screenshots. Bugs always automatically go to the top of my priority list and I try to fix them asap. Another general issue with extensions is that sometimes it takes longer (24-48 hrs) for Chrome to review and release the new version, even if I fix the bug in 5 minutes.

So next time you find a bug, instead of threatening to stop using the extension, just nicely approach me and let me know and I'll try to fix it.

ornate path
# torpid quail <@1048426591606296616>

The screenshot you posted is from a small bug with the renaming that I've already fixed and it's waiting to be released. The issue happened when you try to renme a conversation and then press Enter. The first screenshot isn't related to the error, and I'm not sure how to reproduce it unless you give me more info

torpid quail
#

and thank you for ur hard work

ornate path
#

Thank you. I appreciate your understanding. And if you see bugs, you can always turn the Auto Sync OFF in the settings and use it in classic mode. The classic mode should be more stable since there are less html changes in that mode.

[Issue 1]
Browser: All
Version: 2.3.~
Description: After swapping between chats, GPT stops working and β€œUnable to load history” message makes your day a little worse.
Reproduce: Change between many chats quickly. After ~20s, stop and refresh page -> β€œUnable to load history.”

Comment: The reason why I had suggested the ChatSave Idea was mainly to prevent this message. If chats are loaded to history, you can swap between them without sending updates to the website, and only load them, whenever you want to use them.
Therefore -> Fix: When swapping between chats, you could make it such that they are opened from the chatsync-save and aren’t interactable (the currently opened chat remains usable, for when you swap back to it). If you want to use the other chatsync-chats, you could click on a now grayed out text-field saying: β€œClick here to open chat”, only then does the chat truly open informing the website of the change.

ornate path
#

@ornate cloak Do you have the Auto Sync feature ON in your settings? This is actually what Auto Sync feature is supposed to do. If you have all your chats synced, a copy of your chats will be saved to your local storage. Once all chats are fully synced, no matter how many times you switching between chats to look at them, it will never make any API calls. It tries to load the chat from your local history. Only when you try to generate a text then the API calls will be made to the server.

#

So when downloading my history, I've got about 89 in there that I want. I can get ~52 and then it seems I'm hitting a rate limit and its logging me out.

ornate path
#

Try turning Auto Sync ON in the settings, then let ChatGPT sync the chats in the background (it would be best if you don't use ChatGPT until the sync is finished for the first time). Once the sync is finished, try exporting. It should be instant!
P.S. Auto sync is intentionally slowed down to prevent getting rate-limited. It downloads 1 chat every 20 seconds. For 89 chats, it should take about 30 minutes for a full sync.
P.S.S. Make sure you are on the latest version

calm gyro
#

where is it auto syncing to?

ornate path
#

Click on the setting button in the sidebar. You'l find it there

ornate path
#

What do you guys think about this? The ability to pin important messages in each conversation. When you pin a message, a bookmark icon will be added to the sidebar, which you can click on to go directly to the pinned message. (You can also disable the sidebar pin in the settings if you don't want to see them)

ornate cloak
#

That is pretty cool. Idk how useful it'd be - at least for me - but it does look cool.

ornate cloak
#

Does look like firefox is a bit of a pain

#

Oh, nvm, it also happens on chrome.

ornate path

ornate path

I've been trying. The thing is when all conversations are fully synced, there isn't any API call being made by just clicking on chats

Your problem has nothing to do with this extension.

#

As a matter of fact, if you had the Auto Sync feature ON and all your conversations were synced, you would still be able to see your conversation, even though the OpenAI API is down. That's why I didn't notice the conversations were gone, cause I had the Auto Sync ON. And there is currently no other extension that can do this.

Next version (2.4.0) is released on Firefox and waiting for review to be released on Chrome. It should fix some of the recent issues that was happening with the extension. It should also better protect itself against OpenAI outages. And finally with the next version the Prompt Library will get supercharged with the following features.

  • Filter prompts by category and language
  • Upvote, downvote, and report prompts
  • Sort prompts by votes
  • Edit your old prompts
  • Set prompt language when submitting new prompts
    Hope you like it!
