Hello everybody! I've had access to DALL-E 2 since June 18th, and I have written about my experiences generating art with it on my blog. I'm an academic librarian by day, but I also write a popular blog about social VR, virtual worlds and the metaverse (just Google "ryan schultz blog" and you'll find it 😉 ). I also have access to Midjourney now, and I am fascinated by the potential of AI-generated art, and its implications for society in the future. Glad to be a part of this, and I hope to learn from the master prompt-makers here 😜

One thing that I like to do is to give dalle pretty vague prompts, but tell it what it's suppoosed to feel like, and the style. So for example ||"The most awe-inspiring, epic and hope-inspiring painting that has ever existed, of people embarking on an adventure, at break of day. Very large canvas, painting by your mother, oil on canvas, the painting style is so precise that it almost looks like a photograph, while still romanticizing the scene, and making the viewer hopeful"|| gave me these ones. Very different, but all are perfectly coherent and make sense in their own right, and there's little to no stuff that just isn't physically possible or that doesn't really make sense. Some of those then give me new ideas, that I want to work on more, but even in their own right I think they're just as good, if not better than ones where I tell dalle exactly what to show me

Trying out more #dalle variants, this one went a bit better but idk still feels really off. Went more oil pastel than the textures I was actually working with and the whites are too cold. (First pic is the crop for context)

As for my favorite DALL•E hack, it’s definitely uploading one of my generations that was cropped weird and making more parts with editing the image, then stitching together the multiple images. Here’s a mech I made doing that

HI, I'm an electronics and software engineer and wannabe entrepreneur from the UK, AI is the most exciting change since electricity, I code my own AI systems with tensor and related libs, I'd heard that DALL-E-2 is a generation ahead of anything else on the market and it sure looks like it. I think we are going to have a very interesting decade or two with the interaction between commerce, the legal system, the job market and AI's part in all of that. I think there is money to be made by offering the general public curated access to AI and I think it will become like any other creative scientific outlet, electronics, computer science, etc. as anybody can access electronic components and the design tools to build them into a thing but it takes specialists to make anything useful. I see a similar thing for AI.

I'm a software engineer and part-time boardgame designer. I'm hoping to use Dall-E 2 to create usable boardgame art and design work. Specifically I'm interested in the ability to create specific positional layouts (think tiles for tile-laying games such as Carcasonne) and card art depicting odd conceptual mixtures. Along with just "normal" pretty card art. So far only the latter is having any rate of success. It appears very hard to describe exact layouts. Nor does Dall-E 2 appear to grasp "top-down" or have it produce multiple images in significantly uniform styles very well.

Yes and no - you can upload an image and use the ‘edit’ function but you can’t just throw an image in and regenerate it

Is it for every credit or for every monthly credits? For example, if i dont use my first 50 credits, can i use them next month? Basically, if i never use the AI, the second month, how much credits will I have? 65 or 15?
