Hello everyone... I don't want to be a pain but I was wondering if anyone else has the same issue with old Sora web app.
The issue:
Page becomes unresponsive after adding image reference

Description:
When I attach a reference image (upload or from Library), the entire page stops responding. Inspecting shows the <body> gets pointer-events: none. If I remove that style in DevTools, the page works again, but the image I added disappears (as if the UI is intentionally blocking reference images). Adding another image re-applies the lock. This doesn’t happen if I prompt without an image. Looks like the interface disables clicks during image processing but never re-enables them.

Environment:
Chrome (latest), Edge(latest), Brave(Latest), Windows 10. Reproducible every time with image references.

I’m reaching out to ask for help or advice on how to get in touch with real human support at OpenAI. For the past 16 days, my project has been unable to send or receive any text messages — every request fails, and the HAR file shows a consistent 503 error.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
1. Tested on both iPhone and PC
2. Tried Wi-Fi, mobile data, and VPNs
3. Cleared cache, restarted devices
4. My account is only used by me, with no plugins or extensions, and no login or security alerts

I need help. I'm about a minute away from cancelling my subscription after this experience. ChatGPT...I can't even call this hallucinating...it LIED. It said that if I gave it user or developer login access that it would be able to execute the plan we worked on for weeks in GHL, Make, and Google sheets.
So today was the implementation day and then testing later. It even posted periodic status updates of what was complete and the what it would work on next. I was so ecstatic! Finally it announced it had completed and we can begin testing. I checked all of the aforementioned tools and...NOTHING!!!!

I recently switched to a Business account and am sharing it with someone else since it’s only $10 more

And on top of regular ChatGPT personalization in the settings it also adds custom instructions for projects, and “canvas” (which is basically another set of custom instructions for the individual chat threads, so 3 sets of tunable instructions to set parameters for behavior and standards of response quality)

Main downside is there’s no option to enable “Reference cross-chat history” on a Business version

But I don’t know anyone who likes that feature anyway

This was the biggest project I've tackled with ChatGPT but not the first with multiple steps. I typically trained it with success in the past and thought I had become proficient. Those turned out fine which is why I had confidence attempting this one. I used checks leading up to Saturday but nothing can prepare you when it outright lies to you even providing status updates. That was the shocker. At any rate, I've found an alternate path with a different tool.

A friend today suggested that I use Agent Mode in the future. I wasn't aware of that feature update. Will have to research what its constraints are.

Yep, that’s what Projects do. They’re like folders for your chats, notes, etc. You can even add other people to your projects, and ChatGPT can use info from everything inside that Project to stay consistent, kind of like giving each folder its own shared memory.

(You can also choose for each project if it will have the previous memories, or a clean slate. But when sharing with others, it will be a clean slate regardless)

Why didn’t OpenAI make an announcement about changing Pro users’ levels of service? Are there OpenAI employees on here? There’s no way to find out how many credits a Pro account receives each day.

I wonder if something about your phrasing of your image prompts might make the model decide its a request that may conflict with policy.

If you can't generate very clearly g-rated requests either, that's likely a different issue than if it's restricted to iffier requests.

However this morning is has reported that just today (in in the approx 7 hours since midnight) it has not only used all my current 5 hour budget from my Plus subscription, but also all of the credits I purchased - and I’ve only put 8 queries to it (x4 agents).

Typically I have been able to submit around 100 (x4 agents) queries per day. The 8 queries were no different in scope or general description than any other I have put for the past 6 months and it’s also working on exactly the same codebase.

Obviously with this I will most definitely be cancelling my subscription to OpenAI and will move to a different coder as I can’t rely on them when the chips are down, it’s pretty irritating as this weeked is the culmination of years of work for which I will be set back months if I can’t pass this hurdle, but is there a way to at least get a refund on this crappy money-burn by Codex?

Thats how many people come to that conclusion it's probably means, free renewal every month. And that's how the confusion about the auto renewal cancellation causing subscription cancellation began.

And I did try to find anything related to this matter but found nothing at all, nor there is any email address to get in contact with a staff member for confirmation but I find nothing about it in their official website.

Can't upgrade from Go to Plus

The Problem:

I have been an active users of ChatGPT plus for a few months, but this month, due to some financial issues, I had to get ChatGPT Go, which was free in India

• Now I wanted to upgrade to Plus, but when I open the application, and go to settings, and click on “Upgrade to Plus”, it shows me “you can’t make changes to your subscriptions inside this app”, so I went to google play, where I used to renew Plus from google credits, but, after getting Go, ChatGPT Plus got removed from the “expired subscription” area. Some more information, the payment was done by a third party vendor, stripe.

My tries:

• I first tried to go to web via phone and laptop both, but whenever I try to click “upgrade to plus” It just tells me that there is an error and tells me to go to the support site. But upgrading to pro strangely works. I even tried to go in Incognito and guest mode, but still no progress

• Then I went to cancel the subscription of Go, when I did, even then I could not upgrade to plus.

• so I consulted the support AI, which told me that I had to wait till the time period of Go ended (which is December 4 for me as of now). But then I checked Stripe’s policy on subscription cancellation, it said to consult the business itself, but the AI told me that they cannot cancel the subscription in between and I HAD to wait till 4th December to upgrade to plus

• I also tried logging in and out of ChatGPT. Even deleting data of google play to sign in again, nothing worked. A complete lock.

Usually the download button doesn’t appear when using cameos [not always tho].

(You must post them first before you're able to download)

But even if it's not with a cameo, you'd still need to post it and download it that way.

Whenever you're writing the prompt > click the "+", and it'll give you the option to add an image. (Tho, images that are photo realistic, especially with people in it will very likely be rejected)

• On the right, you'll see one button with 2 sliders on it (drop down menu), when you click it you'll get the option to choose between 10, or 15 seconds, landscape and portrait mode. (And with a Pro subscription you also get access to Storyboard/25 sec and Sora 2 Pro model)

About the third party AI Video generators, not sure tbh. I've only used the official Sora 2 version. So I'm not too well informed about others sites/apps for Sora 2.

Hm, not from the start of the clip, if you add an image where it's in the middle, you'd have to prompt it in a way where it goes to the corner at one point of the clip. (If that makes sense)

The image you add is the actual starting frame it begins with.

Apologies if this has asked before but does anyone have a solution for the extremely poor performance particularly with long threads?

New chats are quite quick but I don't know how to resolve larger threads killing my browser.

I don't know of a fix, I personally start new chats frequently.

I use memories and have 'cross chat memory on', which really helps because the model gets some info from the other chats, and then I sometimes paste in from the earlier chat what I care most about (and sometimes make summaries before I switch to a new chat, with the model's help to make the summary). For me that works really well, it IS a new chat, but often very similar to the old, seems useful, and nearly no lag.

I'm even having the model help me design code with sequential new chats, even without memory in customGPTs, just carrying the core concepts between chats (and the code, potentially in an uploaded file as it gets longer), telling the model what we're doing, what we're continuing from, what I want us to do next.

But customGPTs do not get access to memory, so even with it on, if you choose to use those customGPTs you need to do a little extra to get info into the new chat

I jsut checked and it seems that it references old chats but when I start new chats on the same subject, even if it's in the same project, it's a miss in al ot of ways and I have to keep reminding it so it's quite painful to ramp it up and get it up to speed. Really wish there was a way to improveperformance on web.

I have created some characters. Is there a way to automatically include one of the characters in all my cameos? Each character has its Sora2 name. So, I primarily used to use ChatGPT for roleplaying. Like, not “Taylor Swift is my girlfriend” roleplaying kind of AI romance stuff, but like full TTRPG kind of storylines, minus the dice.

It’s been quite a while, but I used to find 4o was very good at this. In recent times, 4o has felt… Not nearly as good, and the other models just kind of couldn’t match it, so I kind of backed off GPT for a while. But after hearing about 5.1, I’m interested again—and so, I wanted to ask, for anyone who might have tested it: is 5.1 good for like, detailed play-by-post roleplaying like 4o used to be? Like obviously “good” is subjective but, in your opinions?

I know I could just test it myself, but setting up the kind of roleplaying I enjoy tends to take quite a lot of time and effort, so… I’d like to get some kind of general consensus if there is one before trying rather than waste hours just to be disappointed haha

Hello, please — if anyone knows — does Sora have any real human support?

I bought a Pro plan for $200 just for Sora Pro, and it won’t let me create with the SAME prompts that even the free Sora version accepts. Every time it refuses, it gives a new reason: “suggestive,” “racy,” “third-party likeness,” etc. It keeps inventing new excuses not to generate content where it’s literally just a woman and a man talking, and he gently touches her upper arm to support her. Nothing suggestive at all, not even a kiss or anything like that. It’s ridiculous.

And when I use the word “black” to describe the color of a costume, it says it’s “racy”?! How is that even possible? Even a broken model should understand the context and interpret the prompt correctly. How do these “guardrails” even work?

On top of that, it wastes your time: you wait around 10 minutes for each generation, and only when it’s almost done you get a “can’t generate” message. The credits are not returned for those failed generations either. And it’s not just one prompt — this happens with more than half of my prompts.

No one answers — not in chat, not by email. You only get an agent saying “I’ll get back to you,” and of course they never do, and they can’t solve any of these problems. I’m using the official Sora cookbook for my prompts, and even that doesn’t help; it still refuses to generate totally innocent text-to-video prompts.

When you pay $200, you expect some kind of support… or am I wrong?

If anyone has had similar issues or knows how to reach real support, I would be SO grateful. Thank you so much.

This is probably just a bug. I’ve experienced a lot of bugs similar to this but only on one account, usually it fixes itself in a few hours if you log onto a different account and leave the one that’s bugged alone.

Guys my sister is using the GO subscription version of gpt 5.1 and it's having problems giving downloadable file links of any kind (doc/pdf/ppt) although it was working a few days ago. Now it just pastes this. No link, just sandbox/mnt text.

I tried asking for a pdf in my normal free version and it works. Also it kinda works in GO if you use the specific GPTs like Medical GPT or Scholar GPT but the pdf isn't formatted. Although I don't know if that issue is related. Anybody else having this issue?

Hello! I am currently facing an issue with realtime api where conversation.item.retrieve dosnt give me the audio response for the first assitant response, even after waiting for 1000 ms. It does however work for following AI-responses. Any help would be much appreciated!

• Make sure the session is configured for audio

• Instead of using setTimeout, wait for the response.output_item.done event for the assistant item, and then call conversation.item.retrieve for that item.id.
