A only error that remains is a long chat stopping/freezing when I send a prompt and there is just the big white dot of ChatGPT growing and shrinking but it doesn't respond for a few seconds and when it responds it actually freezes, to edit a message In this chat it's the same thing, I write on the cell phone keyboard and the letters only appear after a while of it still freezing. And it's not my Android phone, since I can freely exit the browser without any crash/lag and do other things and I've also switched to different browsers (Chrome, Edge) and clearing the data cache.

Can anyone tell me if it's normal to experience these unusual lags when it's a long chat or something like this?

We are working on a solution that scans all the scholarships opportunities in US and suggests to student based on the provided profile.
Student puts a profile like,
His highest education, His university of interest and type of scholarships,
Then the AI tool do web search to get all the scholarship opportunities available based on provided profile.

Currently we use openai and langchain to achieve this.
We use serpAPI tool for google search and use agent that will use that tool when necessary,
But the results are not accurate, we do not get all the scholarships available on the internet we always miss some in this approach.
Plus the result quality is also not as expected.

What are some other tools, approaches can be used to achieve this.

I realize I should have sent this here. I did not know this channel existed.

I am getting these "Error", "Network Error", "Error Generating Response" or "Error in message stream" messages while I am trying to get responses. Is this an issue on OpenAI's end or is this something I can solve? I don't know if this is maybe a cache issue, or other browser setting problems. As of my knowledge (and the fact I am able to send this) my network connection is fine. It seems as though the messages are timing out. But some of them are giving me the error after only generating a few seconds. I have been combatting the issue by having GPT pause after each step in my problems. However, it doesn't seem to be working. If anyone knows whether this is something I can solve on my end or not, please let me know :)

My ideas on a workaround: Realize that OAI is in the middle of (another) massive rollout to many millions of users, perhaps more than 100 million. Everything has to be just right, and systems have to scale, and there will be disruption and bugs, and they'll get cleared up. It could take hours/days.weeks before everything is working really well for most.

Not sure where to post this -- Do we know how retrieval is working behind the scenes for Assistants, with Open AI's announcements? Obviously there's a ton of ways to 'optimize' the retrieval process -- different chunking sizes, hybrid search, re-ranking, etc. Has OpenAI figured out a way to leapfrog all of those and come up with 'the most efficient' way of retrieving the most relevant documents or section of documents? ChatGPT plugins as a whole are not good. They didn’t do a great job training GPT-4 on how to use the plugins. There are some exceptions like AI PDF but for the most part they suck. Personally I wouldn’t be surprised if they discontinue plugins once GPTs are widely available.

😄 I can't currently try to test most stuff, I can't even predict what'll work or be broken for myself in an hour.

But this is cool, and it keeps changing, and in a few days or weeks it'll be done and back to normal some new normal well, it'll function again and probably well, however it works then!

Empty your cache, try a different browser, log out and log back in, if you use a VPN deactivate it - some of these steps might fix it.

And regarding you not having the new UI activated, it seems like they are partially shipping it to all users, not all at once but piece by piece. Why that is the case - I don't know, but I would figure that everyone will have access to the new features and UI in just a few days.

That indeed is odd, but I would also not rush it. The new UI has multiple issues going on right now so to be honest, you can be quiet happy to be on the old version right now. Web browsing, image creation, file uploading etc., multiple things not working as intended for multiple users, so just give the devs some time and in a few days, latest next week I assume most of these things should be tackled as well as the uneven roll-out for all users.

Yes, I had no issues yesterday too, only that I got the network error a few times, that's all.

But apparently not for all users. I had it rolled-.out for my device and account too, but other users reported that they did not have access yet.

All I can say is - functionality is more important than anything else and the new UI has multiple issues still going on - not for all users but for a significant amount. So I would give the devs a few days and then I am sure that at least a big chunk will be resolved and usable for everyone. Patience. 🙂

The examples they provided on stage on Monday were pretty "big potatoes" companies, so I'm not sure how widely accessible Enterprise might be. But AFAIK they do a lot to personalize it for your company, and that can involve API as well, depending on the company needs (I'd assume)

no, with DALLE inside Chatgpt, you basically have either a conversation about the image you want - or you can hand it a prompt that it then hands to DALLE. DALLE 3 needs natural language prompts that are descriptive. In Midjourney or Stable Diffusion, the prompts are different.

It does that after each major update. Sadly Sam Altman is working with the WEF. So if you notice ChatGPT adds features but becomes less intelligent or less useful that is due to design. It took decades for Google to openly censor its search results throttling it thus making it harder to use it for its intended purpose. ChatGPT is becoming less useful and effective every time they try to remove useful features and update its censorship algorithms. Sadly OpenAI is purposely lobotomizing its product to get a higher ESG score. Thankfully though Elon Musk has announced Grok and is looking promising and at this point OpenAI is throwing out the red carpet for Musk with what it is doing to its own product. Hello, I was wondering if any of you have ever had a random conversation show up at the top of your history. I logged in today and I had a new chat that was from "me" that asked, "I'm excited to visit some famous authors' homes in England. Can you curate a literary tour like that for me?" I googled that prompt because I had no idea where it came from (I was thinking it was some default error msg or something) The super weird thing is that is a nearly identical prompt from some random medium article from like 2 months ago. I checked my history in the browser and then downloaded the chat history to pull the UNIX timestamp, they appear to nearly match up from when I opened the tab to go chatgpt and when this conversation started. there will be an extension preventing all page resources from loading, might be an idea to completely reset Edge and try to troubleshoot or just using Firefox in the meantime
