Slowness is common. Incomplete responses are usually due to token limits. And when it doesn't work, try to reword your prompt.

Gotcha, that's gpt-3.5. As I recall, a good way to get more wordcount out of the AI is to make a more structured prompt.

Try this out as a prompt: "I want you to write an essay of a certain length, but I'm having a hard time getting a long enough response from you. I would like your help to structure my prompt so that you end up giving me a long enough output. Can you help me to iterate through a few versions of my prompt?"

That should run you through some back-and-forth dialogue, where you specify what your topic is and what you need from it, and it'll tell you what you need to include in the prompt that'll help get to 800 words.

I think it is the browser that is displaying the markdown code as an image, rather than ChatGPT. I doubt an API call would return any format of an image.
