I feel you, but I feel people should relax a bit, here. You can use the service, which is all that matters. I mean take your 20 bucks, go to Fiverr and see how far you can come in a month compared to ChatGPT. I doubt one could reach the same mileage.
Missing history is annoying, but you can adapt to that. It definitely has to be fixed ASAP, though.

Sorry - I would have to disagree. We have become too used to shoddy and lacklustre services on products that are actually useful to us. I see this a lot in the crypto and NFT space. We accept mediocrity easily. Is there a strategy to avoid the network error? It occurs consistently nearly at the end of a response. My internet works just fine and stable. So, it's not an error on my behalf. I wouldn't bother that much, if you could simply continue to "chat" with chatGPT, but you only get to click "regenerate response". I did it for like 10 times now. Every time I'll get a 5/6 of the response and then the network error occurs. It's annoying.

If you don't feel that you absolutely need it right not, I'd suggest to wait and stay on the free plan for a bit longer.

Yes, same thread that I started yesterday (during the chat history outage) and kept chatting with it the whole day (about coding). I am using the GPT4 model. After the chat history came back, it seems that the bot completely forgot what we were talking about and asked me to provide every single detail again. It also just spits out random content completely unrelated with what we were working on or talked in general.

you only have a specific amount of words that you can use in chatgpt. to analyze large texts, you would have to split the text into smaller units and analyze them. this would be quite annoying to do manually, so you'd try to use the API to automate it

Actually, it's able to access the whole chat. I've been creating a sort-of code version index with GPT 3.5 and basically it stores the code we analyzed and worked on as versionX, then whenever I ask it for the versions available, it creates a table with every version and a brief description that it generated. Some versions go as far as 9 days.

When I get bizarre answers or answers contrary to my expectations I tell the Ai my info is up to date and it uses that for the duration of that session. Probably up to a memory limit then forgets. At least that is what it seems like to me. I would think, no matter what you tell it would need some verification against newer data sources to remain permanent. Just a newbie guessing. It even apologizes and corrects it's errors but sometimes will still hint back to previous contrary info.

The server did not overwrite your account, I am pretty dang sure your account is still there, but you just can not figure out how to login. Plus, by signing up for a account, you had agreed to the terms of service and all the legal papers, so you are on your own.
