I have a question regarding ChatGPT:

Whenever I ask it to reword and summarize a few paragraphs of information about a subject that I paste into the prompt box in only 3 sentences, it never actually gives me 3 sentences. Instead, it gives me a whole paragraph or way more than 3 sentences. It didn't used to be this way, it used to actually give me the correct amount of sentences as requested.

I have tried multiple prompts such as:
-"Reword and summarize the following information into exactly 3 short sentences"
-"Reword and summarize the following information into no more than 3 short sentences"
-"Summarize the following information into only 3 short sentences"

No matter how I word it, it always gives me way more than 3 sentences.
Am I missing something? I can't figure out how to be any clearer about my request.

Ok, so I actually do know a thing or 2 about networking. You gotta diagnose using the OSI model as a framework. So:

  1. If it's not working on your web browser, is it working on your phone?
  2. If it's not working on your phone and your computer, can you run a ping chat.openai.com and see if you can connect to it that way?
  3. Use a different wifi connection within your location, and see if you can connect to it that way. It could be your ISP then.

You just gotta drill down the network stack

  1. Application layer (the web browser)
  2. Presentation layer (same kind of testing)
  3. Session (you already tested this with a different web browser, so done)
  4. Network (trying a different device, and pinging the domain, then trying possible a different wifi connection if all of these are failing)
  5. Data Link layer (same kind of testing)
  6. Physical layer (trying a different wifi connection)

I would like to provide a friendly reminder that AI is still a tool. It's not sentient. So while it almost seems "magic like", it has its limitations. It usually can do what the model was designed to do.
So if you ask it to do something it's not capable of, then it will spit out an error like message.

I am currently writing my thesis and have asked GPT to find me some studies on a particular topic. He sent me back some interesting studies. To my question: where does he get them from, what database did he get "fed" when programming? I can't find even a single one of the sources via any scientific portal. The whole thing seems more than strange to me.

On inquiry to the bot one receives only the message: "I cannot access any databases".

I think it's alright, the message clearly says "may have", so we don't actually violate them 100%. It's just a 50/50 prediction. It's alright, just I was curious if others experienced the same with yet, harmful playground with it. if you have no programming experience I would suggest learning the bear minimum of how scripts are structured before you do that, I wouldnt implement anything without knowing the bear minimum,.

Hello. I am trying to use the free version of Chat GPT-3 to analyze and reformat a pretty simple table. It works great, but I have about 3000 rows, and Chat GPT-3 seems to only analyse 20 at the time before it stops mid table. When I ask it to continue it repeatedly doesnt follow the inital prompt.

Is there an alternative to the free version? I have no coding skills whatsoever, and I'm really just looking to finish this task.

So I have been working on a white-paper with the openAI DaVinci application. It says that it will take a few days to complete. Is that for real? I have a hard time believing its just writing a white-paper in the background based on the limited research I supplied it with.
