If you see "network error" it can sometimes mean that you need to go through the cloud authentication for chatgpt again. You can fix that by opening chatgpt in another tab, going through the cloud check and then going back to your original tab and hitting try again / amending your prompt and resending it.

What do you mean by "look like"? I check how well it's working by looking in the network tab, if the request to /moderations has any HTTP code other than 200 then I know that I need to re-auth. If the connection is just slow then I'd expect the request to /moderations to just take longer to finish.
