@dim cradle You could also try cutting out an area around the text, putting some "letter spots" in where you want the letters to go, in some kind of texture you like, and giving it the letters in the prompt. It's not good at order, but the more letters you add, the more likely it is to use those in the same order.

Why can't Dall-E be even 1/2 as good at understanding language to create requested images as ChatGPT (3 or 4) is for general conversation. 😦 Yes, ChatGPT can be hilariously incorrect (limitations of its data model), but Dall-E seems only good at purely abstract requests. It's frustrating when I get 100% garbage, but I still pay a credit for each attempt. 😦

I asked Dall-E to create a business theme for my slide presentation, tried multiple ways to describe what I am looking for and even specified NO WORDS (because we know it can't do that)... what do I get each time? Lot's of mangled words and also some mangled faces. 😦 Is there a better approach?

I don't even know what to do with this information, but I'm just going to go.
If you want to make some weird stuff, what you need to do is get two phrases, repeat them over and over again, and try to balance them until you're getting good images of two different things. If you're getting two radically different things, you'll get blends of the third. The closer together the images might be, the more likely you won't get a null response from Dall-E.
You'll get some "broken" stuff in the inbetween space. Nightmare fuel type things staring right at you, but I haven't had a weeping angel jump out at me yet.

Spaces, commas, dashes can add "distance" conceptually between the concepts (same as removing spaces).

Also, Dall-E will usually block anything messed up (thank you, btw). That said - be prepared and don't push your luck without expecting "results".

What images have you been generating? I started with a lot of different illustrations, then went crazy with dragons as the Experimental version seems to render them a lot better than the status quo (especially portraits / headshots)

Dall-E seems to be working again, at least for now. A little slow though

I had a discussion with someone else about this. They told me that it is a lossless format that uses a small percentage of the space of a PNG. My side by side comparisons of the same pic in both formats confirmed this. The WebP img that I compared was less than 10% of its PNG version.

Windows 10 doesn't natively support WebP if you wish to use windows built-in image viewer. A free download fixes that. Otherwise your stuck viewing them in a browser or Photoshop.

Thanks again 🙏 Photoshop doesn't show up as an option when trying to open a webp image from a file browser on my Mac, but it does open and display fine when opening directly from Photoshop. From there its pretty straightforward to save as a PNG

Probably still going to end up saving them one by one as the prompts get saved word for word in the image file titles. But saving the whole collection for now as webp on my hard drive will go a long way to give me peace of mind, as Im still kind of nervous some glitch will happen and my collection will go poof

Apparently the generation process do not finalize at some sessions, and it does not time out, neither you may cancel the process, you end up having 2 unfinished generation sessions which is the limit, thus you can not generate more.

Now it looks like back to normal, slower during the day (EST) because of high traffic volume from all around the world, and expect the render times will gradually get faster as people from Asia and Europe go to sleep.

Normally I'd guess my response times using Dall-E 2 Exp here lately are around 10 - 15 seconds. Maybe 15 or 20 when it slows down. I just tried twice with Exp and each time was about a minute. Without knowing if you used an image that could be subject to copy right infringement, you most likely own the art. However, if you used something that you dont own - or rather someone else could own - you might run into potential ownership claims. But i guess thats between you and the owner, not OpenAI.

The rate this tech is going to advance it's mostly not worth it. It's better to learn how to use it.

Plus it's not like you can generate anything with astronomical amounts of complexity. ChatGPT could take some words like "cat" "reflection" "alley" and "looking" and recreate every possible English prompt.
