It's not as black and white as that. It wrote me a fully functioning 200-line Discord bot code in one attempt perfectly 2-3 weeks ago. In terms of the plugins like wolfram, the normal GPT4 is better at solving math problems, with the correct prompts. The only benefit of wolfram is graphing, but you have to waste a question on that. It’s better to use Desmos or something similar to graph because then you don’t exceed you cap on questions that could be easily done elsewhere

Ok ok so you're maintaining some good best practices. I can't claim my code looks as pretty, tbh. And when I'm coding, its to explain something to a dev to do it (better) than me, so I'm usually heavily commenting and that takes a LOT of context.

GPT will read code and physically understand it to, so if your commenting is outdated or worded in a way that is slightly contradictory to the code, it will have a very hard time with context

A good test would be to have ready questions to ask both GPT 3 and GPT 4, then compare answers. From time to time, ask the same question and see if the quality of the answer today gets better or worse compared to the past

Wolfram isn't a plugin, it's a mathematical computation engine developed by WolframAlpha LLC. All the plugin does is allow interconnected use. You'd have to code in your own functionality to whatever you're using the API for in your project.

Wolfram has their own API you could use to do so.

Well, maybe in your case you are not using it much so it's okay for you. But there are times that GPT4 still hallucinates and doesn't provide exactly what I needed even if I already made a specific and detailed prompt and I need to regenerate response or need to make another prompt which counts the limit. And also I have noticed that "continue generating" will count as another response resulting another deduction of 1 in the 25 cap. I think 35 cap should be fair enough I guess. While $20 may be fair in certain countries, it would be considered an expensive purchase for us due to the high value of the dollar currency in our country.

Used GPT4 with and without browsing mode for a while yesterday, to build me some basic bash scripts, first time in a few days, and I was a bit shocked frankly.
Even well inside the token limit it keeps making very simple, stupid syntax errors, even when I point it out to him. 2 responses later, and the same mistake creeps back into the she script again. I have seen this perform far far stronger just a week or so ago.
And during a text analysis session, it seemed it forgot what we where doing two responses earlier, again well with the token limit (as we understand it).

Then all of a sudden, during one session, it started answering questions about something completely unrelated, seemingly at random. It seems to be sourcing a very old previous session from months ago. Super odd. When asking it about it, it could not seem to insert it had forgotten the context of the session we where in.

You have to enable plugins first. in chatgpt, click your name in the lower left. in the popup, click Settings > Beta Features > Toggle both Plugins and Web Browsing

I’ve used the PDF document plug-ins. Honestly, it works better just copying and pasting the text over. Obviously you need to write a prompt such as “I will provide you with text, familiarise yourself with this text. Acknowledge without explanation, and I will provide further text/instructions.”

If you have more text to paste over then say “I will provide you with further text to familiarise yourself with….”

funny enough, i got it to parse its own error handling somehow; with it responding to my question "is there any issues with GPT-4 hallucinating?" with this:

Yeah. Those are all using OpenAI's official API. It's still the same AI model as ChatGPT.

You can't just retrain a totally new model with your own data. That's not how it works.

Different implementations call for different code but the AI model itself is the same model OpenAI trained. They don't train their own models.

I would assume the one that uses OpenAI API instead of an open source model. You check out 2-3 services from the list I gave that uses GPT 3.5 or GPT 4 and decide which ones best for your job. There are so many tools available for this purpose and I haven't tested more than 2.
