I doubt any time soon. It failed for the paid plans and doesn't seem to have recovered. It's now more like GPT 3.7.
I suspect in the next update, the current GPT 3.7 4 will stay and the real GPT 4, with a slightly higher cap will be made available for a higher price.

Yes but it seems like the industry is moving towards distributed foundation models instead of monolithic releases. So, they'll add the image modality probably by summer but I doubt it'd be called GPT-4.5. Similarly, it's likely that at some point they add a whipser transcription service to the UI and perhaps an voice synthesis plugin to the output. But neither would be considered a new version of GPT-4 in my opinion.

GPT-4 isn't much better than ChatGPT at simple stuff but GPT-4 is quite a bit better with more complex stuff, and it's also good to take into account how much you're going to use it because if you only ask it like 5 questions a day it's probably not worth the 20$ monthly.

After many messages, I’m curious if it was 100, ChatGPT tells me I’ve reached the maximum amount of messages I can use for the particular chat (I was creating a code for analyzing info faster).
