Depends on what you're asking and how you're asking it. Pretty much always going to be a bad idea to use it to learn topics you have no prior knowledge of. I've found it most useful for refreshing or providing additional context on things I already at least sorta know, so that I can parse out the bad responses more easily

Some things it does know very well though, lots of philosophy and finance stuff (although I'd probably not rely too much on it for finance stuff obviously lmfao)

I'm not aware of the experience you may be having with using any version of ChatGPT Plus (GPT 4 vs GPT 3.5, etc) so please take my reply as a general summary of the big picture on usage, not on you or anyone else specifically.

Which is that it's my understanding that whether someone is paying for ChatGPT Plus or not, it is a very computer intensive & expensive activity for OpenAI and as such they certainly will reduce, restrict, or perhaps even remove, any particular user's access & response from ChatGPT versions based on that particular person's usage.

Just the same as many cell phone & internet cable providers will (in the fine print) throttle your service if you stray too far from their normal usage. It doesn't matter one bit what that person is paying because they are literally using up far more than 10 other normal customers that are paying the same fee.

Such companies can often be far better off restricting or just removing that one particular heavy hitting user and keep the normal 10, rather than make the whole experience for those 10 miserable because just one user is basically using up a significant amount of the service.

So while they may usually say up to "25 messages every 3 hours" there very well could be some people that are seriously taxing the living daylights out of their system. Not so much in how many messages every 3 hours but perhaps how intensively wordy or intensive their various prompts put a serious strain on their system.

I don't know if that's how it works. I'm just saying it is a reality for many types of current modern services like cell phones & internet cable providers
