#Let roars hit dodge

How can a roar kill a cat?
Just a cool animation man
Besides, they just can't make such sounds
It would injure themselves
- Lung capacity
- 200 decibels is unrealistic in nature (whales may produce over 200 dB but that's underwater, so sound travels differently)
- Air Physically Limits Volume, the air can only carry so much pressure before it non-linearly dissipates the wave
- Evolution Wouldn’t Favor It, evolution tends to favor energy efficiency and survival, so a roar that could kill would waste tons of energy and attract predators or competitors from miles away, overall just counterproductive
Might need to rethink this one bud
Why does dodge have to work on literally everything basically
If a guy tries to punch you, you can Dodge right?
Yeah that’s physical though
How is that any different
Sound travels every direction as well
Might need to read this again
When someone yells at you, do you fall on the ground unconscious?
No, when your right by something that’s 10x your size that roars loud enough to kill things of the same species almost instantly sometimes
Size doesn’t scale roar infinitely
Larger animals = lower frequencies, not necessarily louder volume
I can't kill a rat by yelling at it, and neither could an elephant
Not to mention, how loud it would have to be
The energy needed to do that, it's insane
Okay then, if you but a rat infront of a sperm whale it would probably die instantly
Back to the drawing board
What did I say about water?
Sound travels differently in water, let's keep that in mind
Yeah your right
So your telling me that if the rex fought in the water the sah could die even with dodge
I want you to think about what you said for a sec
Okay the point of what I’m saying here is that it’s dumb that you can dodge sound
It isn't a physical attack
So you can’t dodge out the way of it, nothing about a cat moving makes sense to dodge sound
You're going in circles, back to the drawing board pal
Okay I have a question for you
I'm all ears
If your standing right by a fire work but it doesn’t go up in the air it just stays and you move a couple feet away, are your ears not gonna hurt anymore because you moved away from it
Ignore the fire part
My point is that your not gonna move fast enough not to here that thing and cause a lot of damage to your ears
Took me a sec is but obviously your ears will hurt even if you move a few feet away
Yes I wouls
Would*
Okay, but does an animal produce that much sound? It's no where close
So your telling me that if your by something loud enough to hurt you, especially cats because they have better hearing then us
Okay yes, but still the rex manages to somehow be loud enough to cause damage or even kill similarly sized creatures
Yes it would be loud enough to intimidate and maybe cause temporary discomfort, but not damage hearing long-term
Okay but what I’m saying here is that, even if the sah dodges it should still atleast take some damage
You know what's crazy?
Even if a rat were right infront of a T.rex, it wouldn't even kill it
Maybe constant roaring while being that close will damage its hearing but it wouldn't kill it
Which it does, it does take damage
Thats why we've got scenarios like these
If you posted a screenshot, well it doesn't show
Okay you know what I don’t think this conversation is going anywhere, how about we just agree with both have fair points and stop arguing
I won, but sure let's call it a draw
Ngl, I was expecting you to respond that low level ragebait, which you did but didnt?
Not bad, usually get them especially after I've been making good points through out the debate
I consider this whole thing a learning experience
I didnt know that a Rat doesn't die even if its placed right infront of a Tyrannosaurus' mouth
Until right there
No offense but please don’t try to apply dumb logic or technicalities to a game because then you have Soooo many more issues coming
This is a great example in if you try adding to much logic so much more comes with it
Yeah that’s fair
Kinda hate how the game can’t have any logic without more flaws with it
Yah it really kinda sucks but it’s not worth changing a component so engraved into the game for a technicallity
Also how dare you put nerd emojis
Joe mama
Aight that’s fair I had that coming
lol
Get feddy fazbard
You really didn’t wanna do that …
Neither did you >:)
Dang it the oldest trick in the book
lol
are we really questioning this game's logic when it comes to sound when a sauropod can bellow, a therapod or a ceratopsian can create sharp spikes similar that move towards the opponent, and a Therizinosaurid can muster up enough strength on its legs to pounce
also dodge was MADE to counteract fierces so it would be pointless if a Fierce specialty move can bypass it with no repercussions
Are we trying to apply biological plausability, when you have a creature whose first line in its description looks like it came from a pokedex entry?
(I still think dodge should, well, dodge roar, but is more related with gameplay balance than anything else)
Dodge is just a slightly weaker version of Infinity
A dodge is a dodge is a dodge
Its not the sound that missed but rather the Sonic Boom that the Sah dodged.
That’s not how that works
Indeed
Also it’s a sonic boom?
Like the cringe sonic the hedgehog show
No. Its those things fighter jets make once they go Mach 1
Yes.
You mean when something moves fast enough to break the sound barrier
It can’t genius that’s why it’s called a sound barrier
Do not look alike
Some what look alike
Meh they are different enough
He he he he
What i'm saying is, that the Dino's saliva got ejected from the Dino's mouth faster than the speed of sound(a little unrealistic but thats the closest thing we could get)
In other words, the Dino somehow spat faster than the speed of sound
Or the dino screamed as it saw something falling and the cat dodged it 🗿
sound moves very fast but this just seems like annoying game design
if it was meant to go through dodge it should be precise
dodge is already annoyingly gimmicky as is
this is inherently a strawman as whales actually weaponise sound as a hunting mechanism and they live underwater
the physics you're using is shaky at best
and as I've said if it was meant to bypass then make it bypass
No it’s not you can’t just dodge a sonic boom
