Perhaps. Each player picks 2 dinos so you can get a little variety (it would suck to get no healers or 2), and then swap in attacks and swap prevention matters.
Matchups ( as in who you're partnered with and who you're against) is based on current trophy level and average dino level, so you don't get droppers smashing out opponent teams.
And this is also good because all those "target highest health" or "most positive effects" will really matter
