How would it know what to not blacklist? What if you wanted not to delete shinies? All of these possible other things just make it complicated

Yes, I think this is the best idea. You enter bulk recycle mode and can select all the items you want to recycle and then you can press recycle, the game will have a warning like "You're about to delete 201 items including (1) shiny item. Continue?" to prevent people from accidentally recycling shiny items
