I would choose Butcher.

I put focus all of mine on Volk, Flamel, Heliodor R2 before any other epic.
Heliodor is arguably the most powerful R2 change but they are all good

You can get Heliodor from fusion, so I wouldn't waste a kit on him.

The recruitment event got me those additional Epics
No Flamel, but among the names that were mentioned here and there, Butcher, Volk, Salvation and Heliodor are the favourites.

Currently I think you will have these 2 important priorities which I think are reasonable, you will currently need to choose between one of the 2 roles: Attacker and Supporter
The attacker is definitely Butcher, when he is in R2 I believe he will shoot very fiercely, especially fighting alongside Sustainer.
Supporter is definitely Salvation, she can be considered the best Healer at Epic level, she will keep your team as strong as possible in every mode, every time.
Oh, remember to use Volk, Butcher standing below and Sustainer standing above, they will be a straight line that will help you "punch through" the enemy as quickly as possible.

Everything you say makes a lot of sense. I have noticed that Salvation is a direct upgrade of Shelter and should definitely be the centrepiece of a solid 5 ship formation, and Volk/Heliodor seem to play predominant roles when chasing 3* in campaigns.
And yes, I have also adopted the line Butcher-Volk-Sustainer in Arena and have went up fr Scrap3 to Gold1 since the Arena update 🤗 Yazid played also an important role but he is already r2.

Thank you for pointing this out. I had not looked into fusion, thinking it was more of an Endgame content but I see now that I could get advantage of it to refit Heliodor sooner than later 👍

So how do I equip volk? I have 3 sets of outgoing healing on Shelter, but that doesnt seem like a good thing for Volk.

@hidden flame Lots of speed. You want him to go before your damage dealers. Also HP, so he can survive any hits coming his way.

Getting Volk into high gear got me watching Volkswagon commercials, AND helped me get into higher stages I was struggling with for a bit! Thanks all!

Get volk crit, hp, healing set, crit dmg, and a bit of speed - his r2 passive heal is pretty good if u gear for healing
