Ive had this discussion with a friend, that we think fred's music manages to access the sensitive, more true part of ourselves. It's a mere guidance to what we need in that moment, but we are the ones to bring in our to ourselves. Like, you can be sad and listen to Clara, or you can be happy and listen to Clara. It will give you exactly what you need in that moment

You're absolutely right. There’s something about Fred’s frequencies that pulls out emotions we don’t always know how to access. A lot of it stays buried because of culture, pressure, and expectations. His sound cuts through that. It gives us permission to open up, feel things fully, and say what we usually keep locked inside.

This past week I was listening to Yasminah during my drive and I started balling and couldn't stop. I lost my father to cancer 6 years ago and I realized I haven't really processed those emotions and come to terms with his passing.

I personally have noticed a lot of recurring artists and repeated songs, and recommended random artists and stuff that seems way off. Hard to put my finger on it exactly, but I’ve been listening to Apple Music a lot more in recent months. It could also have been because the Apple Music/USB002 collab too 🤣

in general i prefer apple music for library organisation while spotify is better at social features

for recommendations honestly i think they're kind of on par, but if you come from one service to another i think the recommendations will feel fresher

like it hink they tend to give the same "types" of recommendations for certain genres, like if you like X type of music you'll get reccommended a bunch of Y type of music, and even though it's new music every week, it still falls along the same lines, while if you move to a new service you get a bunch of Z type of music

but eventually you get the same issue which is you're listening to a lot of Z type of music and not hearing any Y type

Its the other way around. With YouTube premium you get youtube music included. In my country they have similar prices. 4.9 eur for youtube music, and 5.7 for youtube premium, so it's worth it to get youtube premium

Spotify is a tool that one can easily forget about as it's only focused on music, but youtube has a lot more content than music: shows, movies, documentaries, reels. So it makes much more sense, if you were to choose between them, to have a cheap subscription for such a comprehensive platform as youtube

But yeah, you got free spotify. And if you have an iphone, apple music just makes sense i guess (never had the chance to use it)
