Another angle I’ve been thinking about. What do you feel Fred again.. is actually closer to at his core? Rhythm-wise and energy-wise, does he lean more toward dubstep and bass-driven worlds, or does he feel more rooted in UKG and garage rhythms? Or do you think trying to place him near any genre at all misses the point, especially since he’s said himself that he does not like tying his music to labels? Given how wide and varied his catalog is, from club records to deeply emotional tracks, is it even fair or useful to associate him with a genre? Or is it better to think of him as operating in his own space entirely, almost like an emotionally driven electronic lane that is just “Fred”, where genre is fluid and secondary to feeling?
