I checked for a software update for my TV and found a newer version listed on the manufacturer’s website. However, when I attempt to install it using a USB drive, the TV reports that it is already up to date
the link was to a reddit to show this is not just a problem for me just look up UN65TU690TFXZA tv wont update on reddit

still having issues?
yes
samsung still has yet to post the software update for this tv
Try turning the tv completely off and back on. Make sure its connected to WiFi and try to update over the Internet.
For the USB drive I would assume that it has to be in folder and file order the tv understands so could be that the files are in wrong place maybe or smth so I suggest trying to update over WiFi instead
Hey, quick heads up—the firmware linked/given for my TV model is incorrect, even though it’s pulled straight from the Samsung site for the right model. I’ve tried all the basics (USB install, restarts, etc.), but the TV rejects it as incompatible. Tweaks or reboots won’t fix this since it’s the wrong file.
Forcing it risks bricking the TV (I’ve seen it happen), so I’m holding off. Samsung needs to swap in the actual correct firmware on their page
Then its best to contact Samsung support
And this is exactly why I’m super suspicious. Even when the TV’s connected to the internet, it can’t find or download anything because Samsung’s feeding it the wrong info/server details or whatever. How they messed that up, I have no clue—bad upload on their end? Anyway, I 100% think this is hitting everyone with this model. I’ve seen multiple people on Reddit describing the exact same issue (TV rejects the ‘official’ download as incompatible, OTA fails too).
