I just bought a second s23 fe in order to transfer the boards of my phone to the phone I bought as I have a cracked screen and wanted to fix it. Everything turned out phenomenal but the fingerprint scanner is having validation issues that I can't seem to fix, even with guides and tips

So it needs some repairs can only be done by Samsung’s repair center
Nah I ain't dealing with that. I'll do this myself
If this is genuinely something that can only be fixed by them, then fine, but I always fix stuff myself
Wait wait wait
You don’t wanna mess that up do you?
Repairs center? I thought you were talking about customer service. I am not wasting my time sending this in
I won’t help you with fixing it yourself in case you need help because
- That isn’t the right way to do it and we don’t provide support for such cases
- I don’t know how to do it
I work in phone repair btw. It's how I make my living. Refurbishing mostly
So your best choice is to bring it to a Samsung repair center (or customer service center is what they call it in my country). There’s also an option to send it in by having someone to pick it up at your home
Yea, but if you don’t know how to do so, you don’t wanna mess them up. Contacting Samsung online for help with that won’t get you help either
Fixed it. Didn't realize the little module near the sub board was the fingerprint sensor. Swapped that out to new screen and boom. Not the original fingerprint module for my phone (as it's currently installed as I type this) but this is what it looks like
nice to hear it, but anyway i'd still recommend bringing it to an official service center in the beginning as there's still a chance you'd mess that up
Everything is already properly installed and tested. The phone housing I was recording is off of my original phone and screen. All my OG boards and screws and now in the new screens housing
And also I reiterate, both me and my father work in IT. He has been in the field for 20ish years and I've gotten plenty of tips and experience from him
The only thing left I have to do with the phone is re apply the back plate when the adhesive arrives later today
Cleaned to hell and back last night to make sure it doesn't get messed up during install by debris
Adhesive and clamps 🔥
@solid turret I'm just saying it. If you can afford it, maybe get something like an iFixit pro tech toolkit eventually
Oh I already have one
Sweet
