#Weird brightness on S24 ultra

So I got a S24 ultra a few days ago and I am having some weird issues with it.

When I am scrolling through Instagram, every time I encounter a bright instagram reel, the phone gets even brighter and when I encounter a low-lit video it stays dark (the main issue is that the brightness changes even if adaptive brightness is turned off)

I think it's bc of their ray tracing or smth like that

#

The more darker the more contrast there is

#

The more brighter the more vibrant it is

I prefer SDR. Consistent, works on all platforms. Why have 2 whites when you can have #C0C0C0 and #FFFFFF?

#

And I've tried HDR and it just ruins all the colour. Wether on my 23 plus or LG monitor.

#

(LG IPS so yeah Id expect it to be bad.

#

Any actually good HDR monitors?

For my living room tv the colors just turned warm

On my lg monitor it just gets cool, slightly greenish and all the colours are washed out.

#

Hmm so different HDR implementations... Some make stuff warm, others make things cool.

Yea

I think YT supports HDR on linux.

#

Supports everything else on linux.

#

I should try in my instance of ungoogled chromium I have running in proton.

#

(google chrome said naw to running in proton)

But yeah the monitor handles SDR amazingly.

Cool

I like to have the "black stabilizer" level tuned down to make greys darker and dark colors less washed out. Looks like and oled almost displaying LG Oled: The Black
