Hello, this is my first post and message here! Hope whomever reads this is having/had a fine day.
My grandfather's cellphone allegedly did this out of the blue: it locked itself out asking for this 4-characters password, claiming at least one of said digits is a letter.
The attached image has a message which reads:
Insert Password
Your password contains at least 4 characters, including at least 1 letter.
He didn't set the password himself, and no other option other than "Emergency Call" is available. The phone is in offline mode and there's no Samsung account linked to it. No idea what version of Android is in it. The specific phone model is SM-A032M/DS.
I've tried restarting, shutting down and turning back on, typing in "0000", "1111", "1234", and "4321", just in case. Nothing worked. Can't find any good info other than "do a reset" on Google either.
I've found that there have been 51 password attempts so far in total, including mine.
I'd rather not do a factory-reset, so if anyone knows anything or has any ideas I'd be thrilled. Thanks in advance.
