I just got the Samsung SS 970EVO Plus and put it into my MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge with Wifi Motherboard.
Windows is installed on my 860Evo through a SATA connection, it's probabbly 6+ years old.
As soon as I turn on my PC it goes to the BSOD with critical_service_failed.

I also know it's a working SSD, I've put it into another PC without any issues

is it showing up in BIOS?

Yep

Tried doing UEFI and Legacy+UEFI but didn't change

From what I've seen online it seems I need to put Windows onto the new SSD, but I don't know how to do that if my PC won't start with it in

But installing Windows onto a new SSD is pretty easy.

# dire girder How would I go about doing that?

Download the Windows installation files to a flash drive, boot off the flash drive (which should happen automatically) and follow the setup steps. It'll automatically install Windows to the SSD, provided everything is functional.
