Sprites are just static 2d images. I think the game uses them along with postprocessing to create background assets. (The character shadow when going into character transition in nikkepedia for example)

the method is similar to portrait swapping, with the exception that you have to manually change the smol portrait in the big file (sactx-0-2048x4096-BC7-si_hd-f0f77328)

maybe there's a more straightforward/technical way involving the Edit Data option and tweaking the arrays or something without photoshopping, but i'm so i don't know

Check this video, it's the same for gacha skin voicelines but the "bond10" voicelines of the gacha skin are only available if you bought the skin I think (or you would need someone with the paid skin to send you the voicelines data for bond10)
