cutscenes in this doesnt make sense
lore and story was more or less to make the fans happy
I think cutscenes is a great idea, a cool cutscene could be when you throw a guide vodoo doll into lava then the guide appears as a black figure and then lights on fire and grows into a fleshy monstrosity.

Cutscenes would be a great idea. i imagine a cutscene for every message like "The ancient sprits of light and dark have been released" showing an animation of the surface getting hallowd and "Screams echo from the dungeon" showing the dungeon, then shaking the screen as you hear screams faintly. more cutscenes would be a close-up of a planterra bulb and pretty much one for every boss spawning :/

I think a cutscene breaks gameplay in a bad way
it'd be better if the bosses had a spawn animation rather than a cutscene
Cutscenes are not cool in bosses, but in some moments, such as when creating a new world or when entering hardmode.
Like if you enter hardmode a cutscene appears, showing souls being freed and creating new monsters and ores in the world.

And BTW what i was saying is that it would bee cool for when the WOF appears that the guide would teleport in front of you like how link teleports in BOTW except instead of it being blue it would be black and instead of it turning into the guide it would turn into a shadowey version of the guide and then it would grow into the WOF.
But i got confused with spawn animations and cutscenes, cutscenes don't sound good but spawn animations do.
The guide telporting in front of you sounds just

Terraria is not a story driven game. So cutscenes in a non story driven game does sound weird and will not fit with the game

True, but because the game is in 3d, It makes the larger mobs and bosses spawning more wonkier because of how big they are in this terraria, so I think having spawn animations/transitions will make the spawning look much more smoother.

The Guide isn't the wall of flesh. Redigit said that all of the 'guide family tree lore' is a joke and not to be considered official lore.
After you defeat the WOF the guide will say "i wonder why my predecesor spontaniously burst into flames. i hope it doesnt happen to me.".
So the guide is WOF.
If you know about Voodoo Dolls, you'll know that whatever you do to a voodoo doll, you do to the person it's meant to be. That is why he says that. Him being thrown into lava would cause him to burst into flames. Although a sacrificial cutcene or animation would be interesting.
so i just went to the wiki and it turns out that the guide being the WOF was most likely a joke from red. i guess that was already said but i just didnt beleive it.
You could do it the way that Half-Life 2 does it and make the cutscenes occur during the game rather than be cinematics, allowing for player movement and action.
