#is the mod server side or client side

The "From The Fog" mod is designed to work in multiplayer environments. For servers, it's recommended to use the datapack version instead of the mod as the mod may have unexpected consequences in a server setting. Therefore, you could say it's more server-oriented when using the datapack. There's no difference in functionality between the mod and the datapack.
Client side means something that only appears on your client, say shaders for example. Server side means it runs on the server, like plugins or mods that add commands.
And then you got mods that do both server and client sided stuff, like adding content such as new blocks, entities, items, etc.
From the Fog mainly runs server sided, but the textures need to be on your client too, making FTF a server + client sided mod. You can also find this info on sites like Modrinth itself
Thank you for clarifying that, Zwaluw. Indeed, "From The Fog" requires both server and client-side components to function properly, as the textures need to be present on the client side as well. If you need more assistance or clarification, feel free to ask.
