#It made my friends game look like hell

So, when we were playing the mod, we didn’t know how to use the settings nor did we know they existed, so we just played with default settings. As we played, we noticed that he targeted my friend way more than me, with him seeing him way more than I did. Such as him being at his door and window for like 20 mins. Eventually, as he described, the jumpscare happened and he left the game. Later, we decided to get back on and lo and behold, his game looked like literal hell. His base was burned and covered in red stone, he couldn’t move a lot, and a lot of the textures changed to different blocks or just weren’t there, like his sugar cane was invisible to him, moss carpet looked like copper stairs, the jungle was stone, all crops and crop farm blocks were red stone, torches were flowers, glass was a purple block, and bamboo was teracotta with a design. and more. Another thing was that I couldn’t see any of it, and this was just from his view, and this also affected other worlds I hosted when we played but the ones he did were fine. Also fyi idk if this helps but we used the essentials mod on modrinth to use multiplayer. But, none of this has been said anywhere else including in the mod description. I also have recordings of this happening. If you can help with this, or at least explain it, it would be much appreciated.

It sounds like your friend experienced a major graphical glitch or resource conflict while playing the mod "From The Fog." Here are a few things to consider:

  1. Resource Pack Issue: Ensure that the resource pack is properly installed and enabled. If you're using Forge, make sure the mod resources are above Minecraft in the resource packs list.

  2. Mod Conflict: Check for any conflicts with other mods, particularly those modifying visual elements. Since you're using the Essentials mod, it might have compatibility issues with "From The Fog," but I can't confirm as it's not officially documented.

  3. Herobrine Effects: While Herobrine is known to burn bases, the visual corruption you're describing doesn't sound like an intentional feature of the mod, as far as I know.

  4. Reinstallation: Try reinstalling the mod and the resource pack. Also, ensure that the settings for "From The Fog" are configured correctly.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, your best bet may be reaching out to the mod developers for more personalized help. You can also try sharing your recordings with them for further diagnosis. If you're in need of further assistance here, <@&1107810118973792266> might be able to help!

I've had something very similar happen with certain mod incompatibilities. Many blocks seemed swapped with others, replaced with water, destroyed, etc. It was also very hard to move.
Try running with only Essential or if possible completely vanilla and see if that fixes it. The damage is probably just visual, and is very likely not caused by From The Fog specifically, though it is possible it's a bug with Essential
You can also try World Host or e4mc to connect, if the problem is with essential that'd likely fix it as it effectively turns the world into a server

This shit sounds like a creepypasta

I’ve got it from here Twilight

But from the fog is only a datapack and can’t cause this, it is likely an incompatibility with another mod.
