#Is this supposed to happen?

Hello, I'm curious if Herobrine is supposed to just stand there when you look at him, and only disappear when you walk into him; as well as if he is supposed to have a baby husk in him?

I did install the .zip files somewhat clunkily, somehow managing to copy/paste the unzipped file, which had a zipped file in it. I eventually joined server & read pinned question, and deleted that mess I made and replaced it with just the primary .zip. Will this affect the gameplay of the mod any?

Update: everything's still the same. Herobrine still just stands there with a baby husk... looking at me until I collide with his (hitbox?).

  1. if you go into the config and turn off "no sleep" then the baby husk will stop appearing.
  2. what version of the game are you playing?

The current snapshot 10.20.4

Do you mean 1.20.4? Plus that isn't even a snapshot, they are like 23w13a

south sundial

Sorry, I did mean version. I sometimes confuse minor updates and snapshots as the same thing

How have u managed to get it to work on 1.20.4? I have that version and herobrine wont spawn, and ive been told its broken on 1.20.4

Frankly, I'm not sure. Like I said in the original post, I got confused on how to actually install the mod; I got the .zip from Github, unzipped it, copy/pasted it into the necessary locations, and ran it. I later tried removing the unzipped files and just migrating the Data-Resource-Pack zip.

Apparently it is broken in 1.20.4, so try an earlier version.

I did try downgrading an existing world, and will let you know if it works. So far no encounters, but i may just be between encounters.

crystal wharf
#

recommended version is 1.20.1

vivid helm

#

its not broken in 1.20.2, just one feature doesnt work

#

im unsure about 1.20.3

#

1.20.4 made a small change to how a block is labeled for datapacks so it entirely broke

#

he is technically spawning, but without knowing where the ground is so he falls into the void

south sundial
#

I haven't seen anything yet, making me think downgrading the world may have corrupted the local datapack.

hey after the datapack not working last night, i logged on just to play minecraft and saw him like this too

crystal wharf
serene mist
#

yea but im not sure how to get him back thought. he wasnt spawning last night, and im not sure if that was juist a one time thing.

#

heres what the debug menu is saying

#

if its still the 1.20.4 issue thats all good, just wanted to share

crystal wharf
#

debug menu is dogshit, are you running 1.20.4

serene mist
#

yes i am, figured that was still the issue

crystal wharf
#

yes it is

serene mist
#

the one time encounter was odd though (with the husk)

The "Husk Bug" is going to spawn a lot of weird theories/stories/memes, isn't it...? Maybe the developers could add a husk Herobrine varient?

dark zephyr
#

oh I already said that

And him falling into the void, he isnt an actually enity is he? So theoretically he shouldnt die by falling into the void (Correct me if im wrong), which means he should still be loaded. But im getting told through the game that he hasnt been loaded at all.

#

i might see if i can just fix it for myself locally, until devs release a patch

#

(If the only issue is the labelling)

#

If not im not spending hours debugging 💀

vivid helm
#

Like new version as in update? Or new datapack?

fallow otter
#

New version

#

1.10

#

O don't know exactly

Impressively, now it seems to be not working whatsoever. I'm playing a new world on 1.20.1, and I re-added the .zip file to both the main menu and world settings, but now nothing's happening, despite being like 6 days in.

south sundial
#

Does anyone have any suggestions?

south sundial
#

Nevermind, apparently my anti-malware had a false positive on the file - which naturally led me to delete it without realizing what it was. How the file was deleted but the .zip file remained is a mystery, but a mystery for another day I suppose.

Update: I haven't seen anything yet, so I'm copying the contents of the From The Fog extracted folder alongside the pack.zip file. I'll keep the thread updated concerning how this goes.

#

Ok, I did see him... trying to walk through the side of a large hill. Not sure if that is supposed to happen though.
