They arent doing anything, and yes i have the settings turned on in config already and the resource pack on.

it is a 3x3 gold square with a netherack above the middle gold block and redstone torches around the netherack right?

Maybe try the one with two gold and two netherracl and don't forget to light both of them

the original totem has a mossy cobblestone block, it also works with 9 gold blocks because a lot of people don't know of this
