#im looking to make a horror modpack in 1.19.2 including FTF, anyone got mod/datapack suggestions?

could def start with stuff like eyes in the darkness and hardcore darkness (if thats gotten a 1.19 port yet)
end of herobrine is also good but it will cause a lot of difficulties if you're planning to play long term (as itll mess around w farm animals and any villagers you keep)
enhanced celestials is good because it has a blood moon (and also a blue and harvest moon)
and then probably some zombie expansion mods- look into some of the ones ForgeLabs on yt has covered theres a lot of good ones
but esp the parasite mods
if youre looking to just flesh it out more too try better end and better nether + artifacts and the yungs better structures modset
i dont use datapacks much as i prefer modding
however some i do use are a lot of the vanillatweaks crafting tweaks
and if you want to make the game harder, get the vanilla tweaks Big Phantoms datapack
(it makes phantoms get bigger the longer you dont sleep, to the point they can one shot you)
okay
also try getting the cave dweller mod, since most of these mods above ^ are focused on the overworld surface
o7 have fun getting scared
thanks, o7 to you also
i just checked and cave dweller is 1.19.3
thats unfortunate
damn :(
and most ppl arent making backports now so no telling if op will make a 19.2 vers
well i could either update everything to 1.19.3 but lose several mods or keep it at 1.19.2 but no dweller
id say go for no cave dweller
alright
also i know a lot of ppl use it but if youre going to add weeping angels, dont add it without the spawn balance utility mod; in most vers of the mod the angels spawn WAYYY too much to the point it can crash ur game or make it unplayable
spawn balance util can help w that
noted, i was planning on adding them, where do i get that?
thank you
It kind of burns away my soul with the horror mods that wind up not feeling much like such.. Instead they're like miniboss encounters. Cave Dweller from what I've seen in videos at least seems more like an active obstacle. Most definitely the Weeping Angels cause holy crap they seem OP and endless.
However I'm not sure either what might be best for a horror experience. Maybe pushing out most of the "lived in" features from the game? (Stuff to remove Piglins, Villages, Most Illagers, etc - but keep anything abandoned)
^ this too; it depends on what kind of horror ur going for
alright got it
https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/the-man-from-the-fog is this any good?
If you want more of the "oh crap i'm (about to) be(ing) jumped" spooks (and/or combat) you might want some of the content such as the Dwellers, End of Herobrine, and other-such.
If you want more of the ominous empty feel, definitely seek to get rid of the stuff that makes it all "too lively" - From The Fog is the only thing I know atm which gets close to the "you are watched" experience.
i want mostly the 2nd one but some of the first one aswell to keep me and my friends on edge
you got any others? puttign a giant modpack together for myself haha
real lmao
I just want to be TERRIFIED
Like, I turn a corner, boom, entity
Kinda like the old creepypastas... Where you could break a block and get a sound effect, spoopy stuff
same i wanna scare the shit outta my friends
Gotcha. I suppose a surface Dweller could be worth a shake.
If you want to remove villages, I'm trying this. I haven't confirmed whether villages disappear yet for sure on latest versions.
https://www.planetminecraft.com/data-pack/no-villages/
What I can say is that I spawned in a plains and didn't see any village, just something from FTF.
Speaking of FTF. Do I just need the mod? or do I need a datapack too
If you want to run it vanilla, just the datapack actually. You should be able to dump the zip in both resource and datapack alike. Just make sure it's in [both].
If you want the world-gen features, make sure to load it as part of the world creation.
So ive never actually done a datapack. Where do I get the stuff for it?
It's on the website.. which..
i think is down..
Sorry haha! Im an absoloute noob at minecraft
HOWEVER, we have a github at least.
What mc version is recommended for man from the fog, FTF, etc?
For this example and because the site is down, Github will do.
Latest Versions should be fine. Dunno about older ones.

Other than that, for say the "Remove Villages" you'll find something more easier to read.
Alrighty, I downloaded the ZIP, Now what do I do O.o
For the FTF Zip, you want just the Datapack right? You can narrow it down to these. Should be in the vanilla folder I think?
You'd take the vanilla stuff, put it into a folder (or make it another zip? something like that) and then name it something before starting the world creation process.
Worst case scenario, see here.
