a reconciliation would be nice but honestly? i would like an ending where diego doesn’t forgive johnny even if he himself had been hurt before. too many stories have the person who was hurt forgive the person who hurt them (which is a really good life lesson but sometimes depicting people as not forgiven could be good too). diego let go of the past but it’s just that— the past. he’s leaving johnny behind and he doesn’t wanna approach that ever again since he has his future right with him

yeah exactly. with how they were essentially born into the apocalypse, there was always smth Off about johnny but overall he was a nice partner to diego until shit went sideways and the realization hits him that “aw man i can’t keep diego around he’s gonna slow me down and get me killed”

it would be fun if diego was incompetent and sweet like ted is (in the himbo ending which i like the most), and johnny was the guiding figure but then it switched and diego’s suddenly a lot more serious and fucked up while ted’s the new spunky boy on the block
