#Have a realistic more immersive inventory system

Ardem should eventually have an immersive and more realistic inventory system, not the same drag and drop type of system.

What I’m suggesting is a “Sons of the Forest” type of inventory system, where players have a backpack and you have an inventory keybind to open that backpack and see what’s inside it (Not with boxes on your screen, with the actual backpack and items inside it, just like it would be IRL. You can also add the crafting inside the backpack, just like SOTF

Of course, Ardem developers can add their own twist to this and make it even better, where you see the backpack as you would in game, not a foldable version like shown in the references.

Here’s some references:

This would also be the same for cars and shelves, so you physically see what items are in it and you can place them as you wish and organize

We are definitely exploring different types of inventories but as mentioned before in this thread, building something like this would extend development quite a lot and also be a huge challenge due to us having different types of containers!

(Sons of) The Forest has the benefit of only having this one inventory! So we most likely wouldn't be able to add something like this anytime soon, BUT are currently working on a big overhaul of the inventory as to make it more meaningful what you carry 🙂

I appreciate you considering it tho, I hope its added later down the line as an option at least, or you build on something similar :)

We have discussed multiple different approaches, compared how other games do it and landed on something that we think will work well with what we are going for! Stay tuned, hope to be able to share it sooner rather than later!

Ye i mean... Escape from Tarkov-style inventory design would be huge. If attachments on weapons, gear, backpacks, and everything else work the same way, it would be a game changer.

The copy and paste is strong. 🫡

Thanks 🤣 but writing again and again is stressful under every suggestion.
