We need slots so we can add our gear and that would free up inventory space
Every time we go into a dungeon/raid we have to change to Mystic (recharge deification), Seeking Set,Luck Set etc. Open inventory, select gear and click

Thank you for your idea! I'll bring this to the team. I don't know tho if thats something that can be implemented in the game since it may require some developing on this one and it could cause trouble with the gems. If you have any other ideas towards this feel free to tell me!

Gems can only be placed in a new location where they are used globally. Example: Red weapon gem can be placed in the red gem placeholder

As stated in the announcement from the 16/07 there are a few things the team is working on right now. Different players have different wishes and we need to sort them. Some seem to be important in the whole gameplay and changes in it, some are just for aesthetics. We try to take as much feedback as possible in future updates.
