#relatively new aug player - can anyone please take a look at my m+ log and see what im doing wrong?

Here is my log. I 3parsed for key lvl.

I did not realize until after the key that I ran out of combat pots. That has been fixed now, but I know that won't take me from a 3 to where I want to be.

A few things I noticed when comparing my WOWAnalyzer to a much higher rank aug in the same key, 16MC:

They never mess up fire breath + molten embers.

They seem to do WAY more damage in their breath windows.

Ok one quick look at this and a major rotational error has been unearthed that is costing you a ton of damage

You are casting way too much while EM isnt active, just dont. Just cut and dry

You can have like one or 2 eruption casts outside of EM without it costing much, but 44 is far too many, since just under a fifth of your eruptions were not only doing less damage (since EM increases your personal damage done) but were also not extending EM and possibly not extending duplicate, both of which are very bad

The empowers being outside of EM are also just a massive error, extremely bad and should not ever have more than 1, let alone 17 and 14

Additionally you also keep either tipping firebreath or sending upheavel before firebreath which is also costing you since you are running Molten Embers

If you are running molten embers fire breath before upheavel always and never tip firebreath

Ah, that makes perfect sense. I'll make sure to always send FB first and save tip for Upheaval. Thanks again for taking the time to look at this, working on fixing these habits now!

One final note since I cant check it easily is to always try and "multidot" your bombardments in aoe by putting the debuff on 2 different enemies

Yes

More bomba debuffs means more bombardments triggered since they work on an ICD

Which also means more extensions, which also again means more breath cdr

trying my best to do the things you said (multidot, i've gotten WAY better at molten embers, way less casts on erupt outside of EM (13 compared to 40+, but I know I need to get that closer to 0). My key lv parse has gotten better, but I'm still having low overall dmg. My keylv parse was for 29% instead of the like 10-14 from before which is great, but i'm not sure why my parse is still so bad

okay, so obvs im not Rox, but here are some things I've seen on the latest log:

  • you are cancelling A LOT of casts. if you are having to move you should have hover up at that moment.... so use it
  • you are ofren going more than 1 minute without having a single duplicate up, given SO MUCH of your damage is coming from your dupe and breath of eons should be up at with every pack you need to be hitting it more, but youre holding it
  • yoou seem to have 26 more fire breath casts than upheavals... given you are running molten ember these should be a 1:1 or at least a lot closer, anything you think is causing you to desync so big?

finally had an over 50 parse, but still have several issues that im working on;

still using way too many eruption outside of EM (15), 4 bad fire breaths, but I was alot better on my essence waste & cancelled a bit less casts. I had one of my dps grey parsing too so I think I maybe would been like 70~ if my other dps was cranking too?

Slowly getting better I think

There are a few things,

Bombard on 2t since I wasn't doing that previously (or was messing it up alot)
Never holding breath unless pack is dying very soon, I was underestimating the CDR and was holding breath far too much. I'm not getting the ideal "breath every pack" yet, but i'm getting very close.
Alot less eruptions outside of EM (went from 40~ to less than 10 per dungeon, need to get it closer to 0 still though)
Getting much more consistent with molten embers, only messing up roughly 1 per dungeon according to analyzer
