Grabbed a random pull to check something, and the largest problem here is just going to be actions per minute. Nothing else matters if he's just not casting very many spells. In the log I grabbed, in phase 1 he casts 24 eruptions, 16 azure strikes, and 3 living flames, along with 9 empower spells and 13 prescience. I then grabbed my own kill as a comparison, and I had +2 empowers on him, I cast 25 living flames and 4 azure strikes (he's using azure strike too much), but most relevantly I cast almost double the number of eruptions at 44 to his 24.

That many fewer spells cascades into all sorts of other problems - I had a lot more ebon might uptime, I got a lot more bombardment hits from extending those, etc. Don't try and focus on anything more granular for your friend - this isn't the time to focus on buff targeting or anything, he needs to resolve this low APM and over-use of azure strike. It likely comes down to worse hover use and struggling to do mechanics and rotation at the same time

Once he's resolved his APM, he can move on to the next area of improvement

I clicked around to a few other pulls and its a consistent pattern for his apm in phase 1 to be this low, meaning it's likely this low in all fights all the time

Yeah, there are a lot of things wrong at a fundamental level on the court kill, but most of them are due to their severe lack of uptime on the boss, probably neglecting hover usage in favor of spamming azure strike to move. 60% EM uptime is absolutely unnaceptable in a raid fight.

Once they start getting the basics of always casting, he needs to learn cooldown timings (Their eons usage on court was insanely bad) and prescience targetting (too many of them went on the boss, and this fight is very reliant on getting EM on the appropriate targets during the damage amps)

Also looking at the court kill they had nearly 1/3 of their eruptions not extend EM (should be just a few max) and in a similar length non-kill pull I had 90 eruptions to their 58

Cheers for the feedback essentialy main issue is APM and therfore losing buff up time due to them expiring type thing

Tell him that the most important tool in an evoker's kit is hover and its usage is what differs good evokers from bad ones, specially if they're playing Slipstream.

you don't need perfect eons timings and buff targeting to get a 70% parse, but you do need to have proper APM

#

so once he's resolved it, that would be a good time to come back with updated logs with good APM so we can properly see the other issues
