Using Cultivation, whenever I launch GI, it would boot up to the Hoyoverse splash (or Unity settings) for around 3 seonds then immediately close. There's no errors in the Grasscutter logs, it doesn't bring any pop-up errors, and everything seems to be installed correctly. I can provide more logs if needed.

Following the setup guide you wouldn't download any GC resources separately

You would download just the game and Cultivation, then get grasscutter aio from the Cultivation downloads menu

But in your steps there you left out what exactly you downloaded for the game and what you did with it

i did try reinstalling cultivation and this time just downloading grasscutter aio and running it like that

and it did pretty much the same thing

The game crashing has nothing to do with Grasscutter, you can redownload as many times as you want and that won't change

You are crashing at the point of connection. Since you don't want to say what you downloaded for the game and what you did with it, I can only tell you that the most likely case is that you have razer synapse or similar software on your pc that is causing the game to crash when connecting to a server other than official.

Right on, but you clearly have the wrong version of Cultivation

You need to use 1.4.3 Cultivation for 4.7, it sounds a lot like you have 1.2.0 or another old version

If you had the right patch (from the correct version of cultivation) you wouldn't crash, you would simply get a message in-game telling you that your server and game version don't match

#

The setup for 4.7 is otherwise identical. The difference being you use 4.7 game and 4.7 Grasscutter fork such as from #resources instead of 4.0 game and 4.0 Grasscutter from the downloads menu in cultivation

this is why terminology is important

Grasscutter = The server software, you're in the discord for it right now
The game = The game itself, the game client, the game data
Cultivation = A launcher used to connect to Grasscutter or other PS and auto-RSA patch the game

It's not a choice of one or the other

They are two different things, one is the game, one is the server - both are required if you are going to play on your own local server (Grasscutter)

you should first go make sure you're using a new username to login, and that there are no errors in the gc cmd

the bypass is for the patch being detected and closed by the game, that isn't the case for you

again, don't use the bypass right now, if you added any files from it remove them first

Well then there's the gotcha, because if you didn't replace the mhypbase then you didn't replace anything at all, you're using the exact same stuff you were earlier. If you got in then all is good, you just reconnected enough times for it to work.

The version.dll in there is the same as the one in cultivation, but also cultivation replaced it when you launched. So it's the same one you had earlier. Only different file there was the mhypbase
