#port already in use, can't change
94 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
try to change the port in your config file, and then change the port in your launcher... it should fix it if not im sorry for the advice
In 99% of cases there is no reason to change ports, you almost certainly just have more than one grasscutter running concurrently
Go ahead and close your current cmd. Then go open task manager and look for Java (TM) Platform (SE) Binary and end it (usually under Background processes). Then you can start the server again
You can also see the same answer in the bot response, java.net.BindException
Check if something is running in these ports: 8888, 443, 80, 22102. It's likely that is the thing stopping your server from starting. In most cases, you have more than one instance of Grasscutter running. Please press Ctrl+C twice in all but one of your Grasscutter instances, and then press the X button to close the windows. If this does not work, you will need to press Windows and R at the same time, type taskmgr, press OK, and then find and end any Java TM Platform SE Binary processes. If this still persists, you will need to press Windows and R, type cmd, press OK, run netstat -aon | find /i "listening" to see what processes have ports listening, then kill the processes with taskkill /PID <PID>
Which appears when you send the error as text
If you would rather change the port, you can, but this issue is very rarely actually due to the port being in use (as in, by something other than grasscutter). It's almost always because you have started Grasscutter while another Grasscutter is already running (and therefore already bound to 443)
i did what you said and now i'm getting the 502 error in game
There are two causes for this error:
- You have "Use HTTPS" checked in your local server
- Your device cannot reach the server.
Please uncheck "Use HTTPS" or make sure your device can reach the server.
Ok now provide info
Ah actually, you don't need to provide any info
You haven't followed the setup guide yet. You must do that first.

as it is in the pinned thread, and also available on the front page of the grasscutters github
ah, sorry, i thought the port 443 was a commonly used one
No worries, it's not a super common issue anymore but I've answered it like a hundred times before and it's only been actually bound by something else maybe once or twice
For someone that actually has to ask "what is this" when seeing port in use error, odds are extremely high they are not in a position where they would actually have anything bound to 443 - except grasscutter, which will provide the error when trying to be run multiple times. Such as when someone double clicks on the jar, it starts in the background, but they don't see anything and think it did nothing, so they go to start it again through the normal methods and get the error.
rightt, haha i remember starting a webserver on 8080 forgetting i had another thing already running on it | - i'll keep discussion short as this is a support thread
so i redownloaded the patch but it says im missing the unityplayer.dll file and i have no clue what to do
That means you do not have the full game
No it is not broken, your download was incomplete. That is the official server link, directly to official server download. Mihoyo does not provide broken copies of their own game
That is assuming your zip doesn't have the dlls in it, right next to the executable.
If it does, just extract it again and let it go all the way.
when i extract it, it stops at 100% saying it failed
Ok and when you have the zip open, right there do you see the dlls?
Such as UnityPlayer.dll
no it's not there
Ok it sounds like your download was incomplete or corrupted then, given that the files are missing and it is unable to complete extraction (due to unexpected EOF probably)
Solution is to re-download the zip, preferably using a download manager
how do i use a download manager?
like with the genshin file, i know you can use it for torrents
I mean a regular download manager, not a torrent client. Such as jdownloader2, IDM, or aria2
You just copy the download link from the site and paste it into the manager you choose, then start the download
For example in jdownloader2, if it is open when you copy the link then it will automatically go into link grabber. Then in jdownloader, you click on the link grabber tab and then right click the download and start it. You can also set other settings, like max chunks, to increase download speed.
oh okay, thank you i will let u know if it works
No problem
it didn't work
As in?
Can you screenshot the contents of the zip, in whatever zip program you use
i downloaded it through the dlm and it didn't work, still getting the same error about unity
this is the data folder
show the actual zip open, not the extracted
this?
Yeah, everything is there
Now show your game folder
the root folder, not the data one
when extracted theres nothing there
drag them from the non-extracted one?
From the zip.
ok i did it
Now you can use the game
when i try opening it, the game doesnt open tho
it just closes the command prompt thing
Then there is more in the zip that wasn't extracted
are you sure you have enough space
i have over a tb
Ok and what are you using to extract it
whatever it is, is not working very well
Just windows built in?
is there any you recommend ?
if 7z is not doing it then go use winrar
you sure you used 7z though? Since you opened the zip in native windows explorer
i used the 7z shortcut when you left click? ill try winrar tho
you installed 7z but don't have it associated by default?
pretty sure it does by default when you install it
unless you tell it not to, anyways
im extracting it through winrar, thats what you meant right
yes
okok i'll let you know if it works
so i extracted it but there's no folder and im still getting the same 4214 error
what do you mean there's no folder
like when i extracted it nothing happened, it didnt make a new folder and the same folder that didnt work is still there
and if you got that then you should show bottom left of login first, and also your grasscutter cmd to ensure versions match
you extracted it to the same spot you mean? That works all the same, it just overwrites or skips existing
i did "extract here" and cant find where it went
also i cant even open the game anymore
here...
so where the zip is, is where the game is
in here?
