#"Server busy. Please try again later.(502)" error

It's an in-game error only by the most "technically true" thread
This is not caused by an in-game problem at all. The actual error is on your server or proxy.
First go ahead and confirm for me that your server is even running
I just pressed Launch on Cultivation, I didn't change anything above Launch
How can I check if my server is running?
Well, you said you followed the setup guide, but it sounds like you've not done so fully
The launch button is for the game
You'd know the server is running first and foremost if you started it, if you didn't start it then of course it's not running
Go ahead and check the 3rd to last step in the setup guide and let me know if you've done that or not
Ohh ok, the guide didn't say to set Grasscutter path so I got confused
I don't know why I missed "Click the small button next to launch" though
the guide didn't say to set Grasscutter path
Correct, because you don't
It is set automatically because you downloaded Grasscutter through Cultivation
I didn't download Grasscutter separately, if you mean it was automatically downloaded through Cultivation.. Well this is what happened when I clicked the small button next to launch, so that's why I assumed I had to set the path for Grasscutter
bruh
you said you followed the setup guide
I didn't download Grasscutter separately, if you mean it was automatically downloaded through Cultivation..
You're not supposed to get it separately (though you can if you really want to)
It's not automatically downloaded.
You have to download it, from the menus. There are no automatic downloads.
The steps to do so are in the setup guide
Go ahead and follow the steps in the setup guide and then try again
Alright, I followed every step on the guide this time.
Now Grasscutter All-in-one is downloading
Good to hear it, once that's done then you can start it and be on your way to getting in
I don't change anything above launch right?
Correct, that's why the setup guide says not to change anything else
unless you wanted to play on a public server instead of the one you just set up
Oh ok
I'm trying to install MongoDB, but it's trying to install to C which doesn't have enough space even though I specifically set the program to a different drive, and when I try to click a different drive, well nothing happens
when you click a different drive where exactly
images of what you're doing specifically would be helpful
In the popup that comes up when it tries to install to the C drive
I just wasn't sure if it's okay to send screenshots in this thread since it's about the error
yeah that's not a selection menu, it's just telling you how much space is available on each drive. You'll select a different drive somewhere else
Some amount of space is required on the C drive though, because it's a network service
You can see you have 600mb available, 1gb is needed
Oh, but where? When I press Ok it brings me back to this page, and clicking Install brings the popup again
An easy way to clear up space is delete the contents of the %temp% folder and use windows built-in disk cleanup utility
yes because you still need space on c, regardless of install location
Oh ok! So it's okay to just delete everything out of temp?
Yep
Those are temporary files only, meant to be deleted, hence the folder name - temporary
also use disk cleanup, select c, then on the window click clean up system files, select c again, and use it to remove all old windows update files
I'm trying to delete the last few temp files but it keeps getting stopped because it says it's open in another program, such as my browsers
that is normal, skip them
Oh ok
they're still in use because you're still using the program which has made and is using those temp files
Select c from where?
see the first thing on the list before proceeding to step 2
Ohh Disk Cleanup is an app?
of course step 2 makes no sense since you haven't done step 1 yet (use disk cleanup)
yep just type it into the windows search bar
It didn't seem to remove much.. The space available is 621 MB
did you look at the sizes in disk cleanup?
you can check every box in there if you need to
another method would be to move something off of your C drive and put it onto a different drive, such as files in your downloads folder
Alright, I'll try that
It worked! I'm in, but time to create a new post for a new problem
Hi I'm getting the server busy error, just started trying to get grasscutter/cultivation working today. I tried to follow every step of the github guide and downloaded a private server. Under downloads I downloaded "All-in-One" and also both update files
Doesn't look like you've followed the full setup guide, you aren't using the correct game
Which part
I'm talking about the Grasscutter setup guide
also available at #1025543438604710018 message
Oh thanks
I'm downloading the game 4.0 is that the most recent on grasscutter?
And downloading the eng audio file
Yes, 4.0 is the latest supported version.
Halp I followed the steps but got the same error. I also uninstalled and reinstalled cultivation before following the steps
Downloaded 4.0 taking like 5 hours, eng audio pack, java 17, mongo db, set game path and java path, small button then launch button
MongoTimeoutException
Enable "Automatically Start MongoDB" in your Cultivation settings. If this doesn't work, you must download MongoDB from https://www.mongodb.com/try/download/community.
@regal iron
O hi
Okay turned on automatic, still said busy, but I already downloaded this earlier, are these automatically populated download settings right for MongoDB community server?
I think I did zip not msi earlier
It's working 🤩
Now I turned on the advanced mode to set up mods and now when I try to start the game I get the server busy error again
I already had 3dmigoto so all I did was follow SpikeHD's video tutorial, setting the 3dmigoto.exe path and editing the .ini file to the 4.0 genshin path
server busy is not related to 3dmigoto, either your server isn't running still or you've changed your connection settings
Also for gimi 7.0 you do not edit the .ini file, there is also a warning in the ini itself telling you not to make any edits - the part that says !!! IMPORTANT !!! right above the target line
I edited the right one I just forgot the name
The game was working before so "Isn't running still" is false
I guess I changed something but no idea what
Just because your server was running before doesn't mean it's running now
also how could you not know what you changed? Provide screenshots of your connection settings in Cultivation and your Grasscutter cmd
You're the one who claimed that I changed something
Yes.
But the only thing that changed was setting up the mod
I'll get screenshots
Either your server isn't running, or you've changed something.
Or it changed itself when I pressed the hidden ? to switch to advanced mode for mods
I just turned on auto launch grasscutter with game and it worked
So that means the issue was the server was not running, and therefore turning on the option to automatically start the server when launching the game fixed it. Good to hear anyways
