How do genshin backends deal with not trusting the client for data?

from what I understand in a multiplayer context, the client (i.e the genshin (unity?) frontend) should never be trusted as far as it comes to data values.

How does grasscutters take care of this or address it? Is it in a similar fashion to how GIO/official does it?
