This isn't an issue with Cultivation. This is a Grasscutter error

#

Searching for that will provide you the answer, and you should be copying the contents of the error rather than screenshotting it

#

Delete the cache folder and start Grasscutter again

#

Sure thing, just be sure to search for errors beforehand

#

Easier to do that when you copy the error message as well, the only part you need to search for:
Cannot read field "strings" because "textstrings[j] is null

#

then you'll find the solutions

#

No problem

#

Cannot read field "strings" because "textstrings[j] is null

#

This is started successfully

#

Do note that this is for 3.4, and if you haven't disabled encryption yet you would still need to do so before being able to login

#

You disabled it yourself?

#

it's not disabled then

#

Ah wait

#

You're using the all in one right, it comes disabled there

#

The button is wrong in Cultivation versions prior to 1.0.22

#

Have it ingrained to remind people that, as long as you're on latest then it's correct

#

Since normal Grasscutter has it enabled by default always, the all-in-one comes disabled though

#

?

#

You just made it

#

Yes

#

The default settings are correct for localhost, yeah

#

No

#

Now you put in any name and password

#

You can't use real accounts, there is no connection to official in any way

#

You could use an official login if you really wanted to but it wouldn't matter

#

No problem

#

Just as a note again, the Grasscutter you are using is for 3.4. If you get a never ending white screen it's because your client is likely 3.5 (current official version) and you would need to use the appropriate GC version for that

If you are getting a white screen, then your Grasscutter version and game version do not match. Please check #1025543438604710018 message for more information.

#

You will need to use the unofficial 3.5 build from #resources to play on a 3.5 client

#

To do that, download and extract the 3.5 build, then in Cultivation settings for Set Grasscutter JAR you will need to select the grasscutter jar in the build you just extracted. You will need to disable encryption, then start it

#

Make sure to close your current Grasscutter console beforehand

#

Don't click the embed, click the actual link

#

the embed has the key stripped from it, the actual link has it

#

You're all good

#

Ok so what Grasscutter versions does it say in the Grasscutter console?

#

And what does the bottom left of your login screen say

#

Not the game version,

#

what grasscutter version does it say

#

The person who made the unofficial 3.5 build didn't change the game version number so it still says 3.4

#

No not the game version

#

The grasscutter version

#

it's right below game version

#

Then you didn't launch the 3.5 build

#

You'll need to go make sure you set the 3.5 jar and started that

#

You need to make sure you close the current Grasscutter console first to shut it down

#

Then start the jar from the 3.5 build

#

It errored out

#

You left it in its own folder right? Or did you put it on top of the previous gc folder

#

Ok that is where you've gone wrong

#

So you need to extract and use all the files from what you downloaded, not only the JAR

odd tiger
#

You can't use the jar by itself

#

You need to extract the full build folder, and select the jar inside of it

rocky flume
#

Happy to hear that

odd tiger
#

No problem

#

@odd tiger You forgot the " after [j] in the title

#

eh the thread search doesn't count the quotes anyways, I just copy/pasted my message at the top where I left the quote out

# odd tiger This isn't an issue with Cultivation. This is a Grasscutter error

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're refering to as Cultivation, is in fact, Grasscutter/Cultivation, or as I've recently taken to calling it, Grasscutter plus Cultivation. Cultivation is not a private server unto itself, but rather a launcher of Grasscutter, made useful by the Grasscutter private server.

Many Cultivation users run a version of the Grasscutter private server every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of Grasscutter which is widely used today is often called Cultivation, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically Grasscutter, developed by Grasscutters.

There really is a Cultivation, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Cultivation is the launcher: the app that starts the private server and game for you. The launcher is an essential quality of life feature, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete private server. Cultivation is normally used in combination with the Grasscutter private server: the whole system is basically Grasscutter with Cultivation added, or Grasscutter/Cultivation. All the so-called Cultivation private servers are really servers of Grasscutter/Cultivation!
