"When installed and configured correctly, very minimal information is leaked to anime game company servers. If you aren't logging into the official servers on the same Windows PC with your accounts, there's practically no risk to your accounts at all.
If you are logging into the official servers on the same machine with your accounts, there is the possibility that the kernel-level anticheat reports any blacklisted filenames or process names found on your Windows PC to anime game company. This may be cause for future concern and if this bothers you, don't do it."

  1. Will simply logging out of the anime game make it safer to host a private server if I have already logged in once before? I downloaded the game and logged in to download the Jap voices and then quit without logging out. So can I simply just go back and log out to make this safer or is it too late for that?

  2. I am completely new to this so what should I do? I want to host my own server and not be in anyone else's and I am here because I heard I can do that more easily through grasscutter.

  3. Would after all this is done would it be safe to still play regular anime game from time to time for updates and events, especially if I am the one hosting the private server?

  1. It makes no difference in any way
  2. Follow one of the many guides available, such as the one for cultivation in the pinned message "List of common issues"
  3. Yes, but you need to un-patch the game to return to official
#

For reference, to date, nobody has ever been banned for simply playing on private servers

alright thank you

so I got cultivation up and running and the game is running. Do I just log in with my normal anime game login cause it brought me to the login screen and that part was skipped over in the tutorial. Sorry if thats a dumb question just wanted to know before I screwed up. Also once I am in the game for real where is the guide for commands and mods?

There is no connection to official in any way, you will log in with an account you create in the grasscutter console with account create NAME UID where name is the login name and uid is an optional number. Put anything for the password when you log in.
GM Handbook in your grasscutter folder has all the commands, you can also do /help in game. Modding with Cultivation has its own video also in the pinned post "List of common issues"

how do I get to crasscutter console I downloaded it from cultivation but not sure where the file path is for the console

dense storm
#

You get to the console by starting the server

#

Since it sounds like you watched the cultivation video, I assume you are aware of how setting and starting the server works

#

the cmd that opens when you start the server is 'the console' and also the server itself

#

Your server has exited and it says why right above where you've screenshotted

oh I think I know why. I had a newer version of Java because of another game. Thanks a lot for being patient with me. How do I make it complie with an older version of java?

dense storm
#

Grasscutter requires java 17 so you can't use one older than that, but if you have a different version such as 18/19 you should be able to build the jar yourself. It would be much easier to just install java 17 and run it normally instead of rebuilding though

ivory wharf
#

yeah I downloaded 17 from the video but it says that anyway?

dense storm
#

You need to be using java 17 as well, if you just downloaded it but have your java home set to a different version then you're using that different version

#

Since you're using cultivation you can set the custom java path in settings instead of trying to change java home variable

#

You'll want to set it to the java 17 java.exe in the program files\java install path

ivory wharf
#

no main manifest attribute, in C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-17.0.5\lib\jrt-fs.jar

#

this is what it says now

dense storm
#

You set the custom java path to C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-17.0.5\bin\java.exe ?

ivory wharf
#

dang i am dumb I was in the wrong path finder

#

so then I acidently set Grasscutter JAR to something else

dense storm
#

Ahh yeah you'll want to make sure the correct paths are set, custom java is near the bottom

ivory wharf
#

yeah I messed up with that one where should the grasscutter JAR lead to

#

I had it set before I changed it

#

I think I fixed it but the game just says system error try again later

dense storm
#

After changing encryption settings you will need to restart the server as well

ivory wharf
#

Again sorry for the constant questions but everything seems to be fine on the console but in the game after I put in the username I set up it says error code 4214 unable to connect to server please check network settings?

dense storm
#

You need to patch the game, instructions in pinned post "List of common issues"

ivory wharf
dense storm
#

4214 = your game is not patched, your server is not up to date, or you're connecting to official with the patch

#

one of the three

ivory wharf

Okay it FINALLY worked thanks so much I had to download latest version instead of stable version
