Swipes and Bladestorm show up well in half a frame, giving a choice between single target and cleave. But Thunderclap shows up in the left half frame/full frame (if swipes and Bladestorm are on cooldown) and "forces" me to press it even if I don't want to right now.
I'm also not sure that thunderclap should be used on 2 targets without the blood and thunder talent.

Yeah don’t press tclap without BnT talents. However, you do press tclap on cooldown with BnT in AoE situations because it applies an instant rend tick every time
