#Why make a Penalty Road Rage on Summit Ridge...

I haven't played the game yet, but what there is a Road Rage with 2 penalty cars, that sounds terrible
...I beat it, but by applying a strategy...
So what you have to do for that event is to hang back and don't go ahead of the penalty rivals. You have to hang back and let the target cars spawn and catch up to you. Once they're about to pass you, avoid hitting them and catch up to them using your boost. Shunt them off the road, and when the opportunity presents itself, knock 'em into another target vehicle.
But even so, two penalty cars is still a bad design choice for this event.
I got gold, it was actually pretty moderate IMHO, what car are you using? As some cars are just awful to drive
Gemini BS
This event is genuinely controller throwing levels of awful. As a game dev, I really don't understand how on earth TF's devs thought this mode was good game design, and the one on Summit Ridge is the absolute peak of how bad it is. Like...was this goal even playtested?
The penalty cars go completely against the ethos of road rage, and they're aggressive, fragile, and always in the way. They'll wreck out from being too close, from crashing in front of them, from driving up into a clean takedown, from literally just being in the event at all. The target cars, meanwhile, are made of cast iron and always like to nuzzle up right in between the penalty cars.
I'd enjoyed every moment with WR until now, but I'm pretty certain I'm gonna have to accept I won't 100% the game anymore because this is pretty much the worst hurricane of bad design decisions I've ever seen.
Wait until the Road Rage patch later today.
Lol perfect timing, thanks for the heads up!
Alright, playing penalty events, i can confidently say that you should either remove penalty events whatsoever, or make them count 2 times
i have had numerous encounters where i wreck one rival and it wrecked the penalty car. This is honestly a horrible feature and makes those events unenjoyable whatsoever
I'll take that, we were split on it as a team. Its definitely marmite. You can always remix the event once you do do it and take them out.
give it a risk/reward factor. Give the rival car more time penalty whilst giving it more worth.
I ended up only beating it with a hypercar! Apologies for my prior frustration, it was maddening trying to do it in a bruiser
Yeah, the Maclean Aurora makes those so much easier, especially on PS5 when the patch isn't out yet
Can depend on the car, I got gold trophy I honestly found it to be more moderate than some of the other road rage events
If it's any thought. There's a theory that the game wasn't properly play tested because the company that was being paid to test the game for TFE did a shoddy job of it the entire run.
Penalty cars should still count as a takedown, just removes time.
Sometimes the cars just wreck themselves and it still gives you the penalty
Since they adjusted the time/spawns penalty road rages really have not been an issue
They were a pain prior to being updated
I usually just plow thru them on the way to other cars. Has not stopped me from getting full points
No luck involved - it is a skill thing
They dont deal a Takedown count penalty only a time penalty.
Bingo
its definetly a game issue
The road rages are super easy post update
cause the other car you wreck can wreck the penalty car which counts towards your time for some stupid reason
Like ive completed them all without issue
Full points
Got a couple hit or miss penalties but nothing that couldn't be made up for
The game definitely needs to not get any easier, its got a good balance rn besides the road rages.
Those are too easy imo
@undone sonnet is your game updated?
Prior to update it was a genuine issue
Bye?
Like yeah this part is questionable, but post update you'd struggle to fail because of it, the new time limits/spawns are very forgiving
