That would make things more interesting if they did actually include realistic atmospheric conditions and altitude in the external ballistics (have a look at the Encyclopedia's entry on Ballistics), especially when playing in Ranger Difficulty. However, if they did, I think it would also be necessary to provide an interface UI to access the in-game ballistics calculator to make it worthwhile.
