#Tikamoon Plains- need more animals

We need a few more animals in tikamoon plains; for example, wild dogs- Africa is nothing without adding these animals in the map we need these animals for a more sense of realism and being able to hunt them would be really cool.
Zebras- first of all you guys making an Africa dlc and didn't even consider adding in zebras for players to hunt??? The plains look so empty without them it would feel more natural if you did add in zebras.
Salt water crocodiles- we need salt water crocs to sun bathe along the river banks and chilling in some watering holes! Would be fun to hunt as well to add in more depth into the map!
Flamingos- more options to hunt flamingos along side the Egyptian geese, I feel we do need more birds to hunt in that whole map in general. I believe I have only seen the Egyptian geese to hunt.
These few animals would bring the map more to life, and would make alot of us happy sense you know this is Africa and these options should be on the map. Well at least wild dogs and zebras anyway.

I think there are better choices such as Sable, Impala, and Eland but I agree that there could be more variety even though I do love the map as it is.

i'd rather more horned animals, so that score is actually visibly reflected. zebras are boring, i don't get the love for them

im my personal opinion I think what you propose is good but I feel we need way more Like maby hippos or possibly giraffe but I know that cape buffalo are basicly equals to hippos

Give us endangered animals too, you're already letting us hunt lions...how about rhinos, hippos, cheetah, elephant 🐘

From a South African and a Dedicated Hunter

The following animals will add a great true african experience that will make people enjoy the map itself more.

  1. Eland (Taurotragus oryx)
  2. Sable
  3. Hartebees (Alcelaphus buselaphus)
  4. Waterbuck (Kobus ellipsiprymnus)
  5. Zebra

A few Animals on the grey line that I would like to see added as well but might cause a bit of a unhappy client base

  1. Giraffe
  2. Hippos
  3. Elephant

A side note, The placement of animals across the map feels a bit unrealistic as the places you find Kudu's is completely not what the habitat of the animal is and the same with the springbuck. Otherwise the DLC itself is wonderful but with the size of the map, expanding the animal list would allow you to be able to also reshuffle the animals on the map to live in the actual habitats it should and not just be random locations.

# dry forum I completely agree. Wild dog hunting is illegal, isn't it? And I think that flam...

Flamingo hunting is not a thing and it is highly looked down, Personally I am aware of protection acts within the Sea Birds and Seals Protection act to put a stop to it.

Wild Dog hunting is also not a real thing.

Lion hunting is a VERY large thing in Africa as well as South Africa, As people are working to try and make it illegal, Lion hunting is very legal itself but if the owner of the lodges/wild reserves have the appropriate permits.

But, yeah. If they did a redistribution and some tweaks on the animal density, I'd love to have new species roaming around. Sable, eland, nyala, impala, etc. Love 'em!

Is the black wildebeest habitat accurate too? Apparently we can only find them in the forested areas on TP. But is it like this irl? I see tons of pictures of them on an arid savannah.

Kudus are amazing animals, They have smell, hear and see you from a very very very far distance away. They are one of the most secretive animals you will find within Africa. They like being in thickets that provides security and you will rarely find them in any open areas. That is why this animal is a great challenge to hunt on foot. I would however like to see a bit more thick bushy areas on a section or few sections of the map to allow this hunt to be as of a challenge.

Springbuck likes a bit more of a open area itself even though they do enjoy sleeping in bushes or under trees for shade. They do much rather hang around open flat areas as that enables them to view the area around them for any predators as well as hunters of course. Yes you will find them in a area with bushes in certain reserves but that is because not all reserves itself caters for all the animals and sadly certain antelopes needs to adapt to the "caged" reserve.

Black Wildebeest is perfectly fine to be honest, I have not ran into any Wildebeest Black or Blue that is for me personally outside of its natural area within the map. I have found a lot of wildebeest in the open plains and bushy areas and that is normal itself.

Interesting! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I love kudus, by far my favorite antelope species, and It'd be very cool if they managed to make their hunt very challenging

I agree wholeheartedly, and would even pay more to help make this happen. Zebras especially.

Elephants i can assure you are VERY far from being endangered. Lions are a large market for international hunters. So Lion breeding and Lion hunting is huge but it doesnt mean the animal is endangered. Elephants i believe would be a great addition as there is currently to many Elephants and even the national reserves within Africa are allowing hunters to come and shoot them.

It's ridiculous to basically copy and paste COTW African species list with only a few minor changes here and there. You have a huge variety of fauna to choose from in Africa and you chose to use the same animals we've seen already? Compared to other hunting locations they had the biggest amount of options in variety, and they chose to play it safe. I wouldn't doubt they'll try to entice people to by a new "season" pass for the next two DLCs with a better variety of fauna, so they'll wait for people to shell out the cash.

I think at least a few countries do allow some lion hunting, though to my understanding South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Tanzania and Zambia seem to be the main ones (there is also Namibia and Cameroon)

# white forum Honey Badgers, Greater Kudu, Black Wildebeest, Egyptian Goose and Guineafowl are...

Honey badgers are a reskin of other badgers in the game, greater kudu are very similar to lesser kudu (but I appreciate it's at least different) black wildebeest and blue wildebeest again have minor differences in animal behavior and looks, and the birds...who's out there really bird hunting in this game... but the point remains, there isn't a huge variety to COTW selection of fauna. And reskins are nice but would be nicer if they had different animations and animal behavior.

But to the point of the original post, some unique species (model wise) are needed and Zebra is a good one

Another big game species I’d like to mention are Chacma Baboon

#

I can’t believe I missed that part (see screenshot image)
@tidal falcon there are no Saltwater Crocodiles in that part of Africa, and the closest they ever got to Africa were the Seychelles (an archipelago in the Indian Ocean)

The Crocodiles that do live in Africa (and can be hunted) are the Nile Crocodile

The other thing I’ve noticed that I think makes the map feel empty is that the animals in a herd a bunched up really close together. Especially the water buffalo. The animals need to be spaced out some more.

I agree map needs more animals. For such a big map it feels empty in some areas. Would be so much better with more species. Why add a larger map with the same number of species doesn't make sense. But what do I know maybe there's a reason why...
