The long awaited bows in this DLC don't even tempt me. I bought the last one to see if the crossbow and map would be worth taking the time and effort necessary to progress.
The cars are supposed to bring your gear with you and get you to places on the huge maps faster, but are worthless for me, as driving takes two hands and I can only use one.
After 'updates'—struggling to play and waiting to a see if the devs would tweak the mechanic—along comes the first DLC. Did things improve? No, not only did they not tweak the driving mechanic, they put a race in the story progression as a necessity—the only way to progress the story and to gain the 'better' crossbow. From what I've seen, it isn't all that easy for any players to do.
Nice job, Nordic.
I spent my money on this game, so I tried to play it and enjoy it, but found frustration. I made any modifications I could to tweak the driving. I spent months trying to make it work. Joy to key, remapping keys, mouse buttons etc. I practiced 'driving' and I tried the 'race' sequence more times than I can count. The handling necessary for completing the 'race' in the required amount of time is impossible. It's not a matter of not being willing to learn ... it cannot be done with my present limitations as the game stands.
I have been consistent—from the start—in my call for adjustment, made suggestions (and I'm not the only one.) But accessibility is apparently not a priority.
Not being able to drive adds frustration to the many other little irritations in the game pointed out by others. If you like the game, good for you. Don't bother to tell me, "If you don't like the game, don't play it. " It isn't a matter of don't—it's can't which is entirely different matter.
I was foolish enough to believe this company would actually listen like Rebellion did. I wish I'd known otherwise sooner, and not been fooled by their claims and my hopes for improvement into spending money on a game that is useless to me.
